**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

So who else here thinks the Lakers are hell bent on keeping this young core together while passing up on any opportunity to acquire a star?

Lol

Pretty sure consensus is not to gut the team to get said star

Ideally you want to attach deng in any deal
But you don't want to lose 2 core pieces under contract

The jimmy deal is different cause he is locked for 3 more years iirc

Read on Lakersnation discussions with Bulls

Jimmy Buckets and MCW for JC Randle and Lou.

Interesting.....

The source of this is a guy who was peddling the same thing last year and deleted the tweets pertaining to it. So grain of salt. Dude ain't even verified.

Best believe the Lakers are set on trading at least two "core pieces" if it means acquiring a star player

MoMo just said on Mason and Ireland that the Bulls are talking to teams about Butler but not sure if Lakers are serious involved in those talks or something like that.

Butler is a legit closer
He's been so clutch this year
And still young

But man, not sure how I feel about giving up JC and Randle

Both guys are expendable. They never are going to be allstar caliber players in they're careers.

The are just nice shiny role players for whatever team they will play on.

You know whats funny, for the past month if you throw enough BS on a wall and say all those things can happen and when at any moment something happens on any level (micro/macro), you can then lay claim to knowing it was gonna happen. :lol
I'll give it time.... ;)
False Prophets lol

Lakers do seem hell bent on trading for a star now that Jeanie brought Magic in. I sense nervousness, sweaty hands, and dont like it.
The pecking order of first to get offered out of the main young core is: 1. JC 2. Randle 3. Nance 4. DLo 5. 6. 7. 8. 9........... 10. Ingram

If you can get Jimmy and somehow can keep DLo & Ingram you do it. If they want DLo you still do it. But we gonna need a pick or cap relief back under that circumstance

i can see the bulls asking for d/lo or randle plus JC and either Zu or nance

they can have lou ,randle, t-rob  and whatever pick we have in 2022

I do that trade in seconds. That said, if we can somehow get PG with a similar package

Nance Jr. is not and will never be a starting PF in the NBA.

Dude is just to injury prone and won't hold up for more than 60 games a season.

We still got Tarik for the other 22.

Man, if we trade Lou, Clarkson, and Randle, I guess that means DLo never had a date to prom, or his mom don't even like him, or he got picked on in 6th grade once, or something. Damn. :{

Tanking this season is pointless.

Lakers are going to drop out of the top 3 and that pick will go to Philly this year. You can only defy the odds so many times :lol
