The optimist in me thinks we just need to wait till all these old :emoji_poop: stains die off. Then maybe things can get better. The pessimist in me worries it'll be too late by then.
They pass that nonsense down to their children: around the dinner table, at family gatherings, during social events, and they use peer pressure to enforce adherence to those teachings.

Thats how those old folks die off but the ideas persist.

Bobby Jr and Marianne Williamson  I was hoping any primary challengers would be at least tolerable. This clown show is only going to embolden Joey B.

Running against an incumbent President who is a member of your party, especially someone that has been as good as Biden, is a really dumb and dangerous idea

But thankfully these two idiots will be mostly ignored

^ It really bothers me that he could playback that video, see that his phone camera lens is all greased up, and not redo/retake the video with a clean lens.

When Jimmy Carter got primaried in 1980 he deserved it. Carter is now known to liberals mostly for habit for humanity and he’s known to conservatives as a socialist who kissed the feet of the Ayatollah. Those perceptions belie the fact that he was the thin wedge of neoliberalism which opened things up for Reaganomics. In foreign policy he was t as awful as Reagan but he still operated under the assumption that the US owns all the oil on Earth and other countries better not block access to it.

Biden may not have ended neoliberalism, as some pundits claimed back in 2021, but he’s not been openly antagonistic to the left. There have been some disappointments such as the rail strike and his willingness to ban some trans athletes from college sports, but on the whole he has supported newer labor unions, withdrawn from Afghanistan and most of all he at least sees limits to America’s military power, he sees that deregulation is not the answer to every single domestic issue unlike Bill Clinton. Also unlike Bill Clinton he doesn’t feel the need to prove himself to the right and therefore we haven’t and will not see any denunciations of “big government.”

As many on left Twitter have pointed out, don’t give your time nor your money to Marianne Williamson 2024 because she’s going to lose and ultimately end up endorsing Biden anyway.

In the current political environment, voting straight blue is a relatively low effort, high value, defensive measure that one can take. Not sure who to vote for in local, nonpartisan races? Take two minutes and check a local left wing/civil rights org’s voter guide and there you go. Voting takes little thought to get it right.

If you are upset that we do still live in a brutally hierarchical society that grinds up its most vulnerable, if you wake up every day thinking about that, put that energy into local activism, lay the ground work for a progressive or even a socialist Democratic candidate in 2028 because 2028 may end up being an extremely favorable environment for the left.

Marianne Williamson just says stuff to say it.

like I know you aren't going to cancel every government contract with union busting companies. I like unions but even I know thats not happening and if you did that would be dumb af.

I wanna see big gretch 2028.

I like Marianne. She’s good at framing politics in moral terms and she has literally saved lives with all inspiration and wisdom to people seeking sober living. But she’s working against her own interests.

When you run in an open primary, you’ll get free media. If you run against an incumbent, you’ll get almost none. She would get more free media by simply criticizing Biden from the left in the press, which would lead to invites to more news outlet. She’s at a level where she’d only have to ask to get on TV.

I don’t really see what she’s trying to achieve.

Sounds like this person has at least some documents/emails to back up their claims of preferential treatment and perjury from a senior official. I don’t think anyone would be surprised if a politically connected person is getting different treatment at the IRS than the average Joe, no pun intended.

There’s a whole lot of stuff to collect and he chose nazi regalia. Enough said.
He’s a very weird man, I’m not entirely sure what to make of it. He also collected a lot of memorabilia that would fit in well at a black history museum.

One the one hand he’s collecting just straight up nazi/Hitler memorabilia but then he also has statues of black civil rights leaders and various related memorabilia.

He clearly has an obsession with history and political power, that much is obvious.

*All of the below assumes the referenced examples or trans individuals are on hormone treatments

Is this truly a bad thing though?
I strongly believe that it is fundamentally unfair for a trans woman to compete against biological women in sports.
On the other hand, hormones have such a drastic impact that a trans man competing against biological men would still be at a drastic disadvantage. However the trans man would still hold an unfair advantage over biological women.

Simplified:
Trans man < Biological men
Trans man > Biological women
Trans woman < Biological men
Trans woman > Biological women

At around 20-21 years old, I developed a hormone condition (hypogonadotropic hypogonadism) that drastically reduced my testosterone levels. I had been going to the gym for multiple years and was noticeably muscular. Within months of the onset of the hormone condition, I gradually had to give up all my physical hobbies. All because my testosterone levels simply dipped to around 25-30% of what a normal healthy male would have.

Once I was diagnosed and started my hormone treatment, merely boosting my testosterone levels to around 50% of a healthy male has been life changing.

The point I’m making is that hormonal changes have a very drastic physical impact, which some people may underestimate.

The unfortunate reality is that a trans person’s hormonal composition creates an unfair advantage, there’s no way of getting around that. The only ‘fair’ scenarios are trans women or trans men competing against biological men but it’s still unfair, it’s just that in those cases it’s the biological men who hold the physical advantage.

To be clear, I think this is only an issue when we’re talking about competitive sports where some sort of reward is involved, not regular gym class or something.

Of course a major issue that arises from this is how does one verify potential complaints?
We all know there’s gonna be Karens complaining about non-trans players who happen to not look overtly male or female.

Typically what gets brought up is the extremely invasive inspection of genitals, which to me sounds both prone to abuse and unnecessarily invasive.
Personally I think a simple blood test checking someone’s hormonal composition would suffice for verification purposes.

Is it possible they just understand the grift and don’t actually believe half of what they say?
