CP channeling his inner JA.

It doesn't matter if the Heat bet the Celts in a regular season game. Regular season games only matter for teams in danger of not making the playoffs or teams that can't win on the road.

I don't think Manu is overrated at all, I think all the years of basketball and age are finally catching up to him.

Please explain to me how anything I said in that post was hate.  Dead serious, how was my opinion (long formed) hateful in that post?  Because I spoke out on your team?
grin.gif

What Bron n Bosh did in the past on separate teams cant be compared to what they can do ON THE SAME TEAM. KG would agree with me from his time in Minny

I learned my lesson in the playoffs about dismissing BOS so I wont.

Like I said before, talk is cheap. I'll let the talking be done through wins & loses

No, not kidding.  Kid is good, no doubt about it.  But his hype is off the charts and that is too high.

I get that because of his international game he will make the basketball HOF, but if it was the NBA HOF only, he wouldn't be anywhere close to it, but media types talk about him like he's a franchise type guy.  That's silly to me.  I understand the angle that when he plays well, the Spurs are tough to beat, that is true, very true actually, but that doesn't make him some significant force in the league.  When Lamar Odom plays well, the Lakers are tough to beat, Lamar Odom a franchise Hall of Fame type guy?  No.  They just do a lot of things well that help move a team when their respective games are on.

So to me, IMO, Manu is very overrated.  He is best suited as the third best player on a team, if he's the #2, then that team won't be successful.  I don't hate the guy or the Spurs at all.  Very much the opposite actually, the Spurs are the only other West team to do anything in the past 10-12 years.  I don't fail to see that.  They have my respect.  But that doesn't mean I can't call it like I see it.

The only team I really hate is the Blazers, cuz I live here and have to suffer listening to these morons.

What hype are you talking about? You got a guy who last year who said "BOS was making MANU look like joe johnson out there".
indifferent.gif

So your telling me he didn'tLEAD thatArgentina team to a gold medal in 04?
MANU was the second best player on the team in 2005. and IMO he should have gotten FINALS MVP. He was balling that year.

Injurys are part of the game. You cant blame that on MANU.

Also since we are on the subject of whos overrated.

One can argue that the Celtics' role players or bench is significantly better than Miami's, but that variable is really insignificant when you have Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade on your roster.

While the Boston Celtics are coasting through the regular season, the Heat have all 82 games to make that team mesh and find a way to hit their maximum potential and be ready to just dominate their way to the NBA Finals. I really believe it'd be naive to think the Celtics have a better chance than Miami to come out of the Eastern Conference.

Are you saying the Heat having to play the full season to figure out the team chemistry is a good thing?

You guys ever listen to a national broadcast of a Spurs game?

Ever listen to ESPN's panel of writers talk about him in chats, or articles or anything?  They love dude.

I didn't know the 04 Argentina team counted in terms of NBA, but ok.  Manu is great then, how stupid of me.

this is funny to me, because come playoff time dude was there number 2 player

he has know problem coming off the bench since it makes his team better, but he is clutch when they need him and ALWAYS steps it up come playoff time.

because a few people on ESPN and other hype him up means everyone does?

Reading things 2-3 times can be advantageous, just sayin...

I said that they have 82 games (meaning a lot of time), so whether it takes them 10-15 or 20 games, they'll be able to achieve it seeing as it's such a long season. Never said it would take them 82 games. If you became confused by what I wrote in three, short sentences

I mean, do you want me to go door to door, or what'dya want here?  I said media, I said he is overhyped, media does that, see Brett Favre stories if you're confused, I didn't say NT hypes him up, I didn't say the whole world hypes him up, I said, he's overhyped, and that the media overhypes him.  Is that unclear in some way?  Is it ok if I consider him overrated?  Should I change my opinion?  How do I feel about the 2011 season?  Do i like what the Clippers have goin on this year?  What are my thoughts on John Wall?  Do I like Cheeseburgers?

He's overrated, I'm sorry.  I think he's good, but not great at all.  No crime, just my opinion.  I think the Spurs are done, like I said the past 3 years, I think the Celtics are a legit threat and they will beat Miami come May.  Thas all I was sayin.  At first I was accused of saying the Celtics were done, someone spoke up for me, and I gave my opionion on what you mentioned, realizing that it was in fact a strange situation in saying the Spurs are done, but the Celtics are not.  A part of my reasoning was Manu was overrated.  Could it be injuries?  Sure, fine, whatever.  Regardless, that's how I see it and given my track record the last 3 years, I'd say I'm doin pretty well in the predictions department, wouldn't you agree?

See, we're all back on ball now, the movie interlude was just a nice getaway to re-charge the mind.

Take/Make.... pretty similar if someone is reading quickly.

I figured id ask for clarification instead of automatically beginning to criticize.

Too bad we only got to see a four year prime out of Manu (04-08). Overrated or not, he was enjoyable to watch (minus the flopping).
