The thing nobody wants to talk about is Doctors are overpaid. Point blank, it's the largest fat in the system, yes even more-so than insurance screwing the middleman.health insurance is a relatively low margin business, the power of single payer comes from forcing hospitals and doctors to charge less
Tommy Douglas built single payer health care in Canada, with FIERCE opposition from Doctors. they went on tv in white coats telling people how bad it was gonna be.
they went on strike, it was a tough difficult political battle that really involved persuading the public.
and keeping support high despite peoples family doctors telling them they would die waiting in line to see a doctors.
If all you have planned for the next four years is more low effort trolling, it’s going to end with you losing access -and soon.Haven’t heard much on more restrictive gun laws in response to the killing of the United CEO.
Got surgery and a vacation coming up, so I will really be gone gone until next year.
They will never stop at just erasing trans people from public life.
They want to undo decades, and in some cases, centuries of progress.

They literally have a lobby and manage how many doctors there can be, on a yearly basis via the MCAD, no other industry to my knowledge is like this. I could be wrong.
AI can't come soon enough to general practitioner care. by the way I have seen some amazing family medicine doctors and my current one is A+. But how many people actually need to see a doctor to get an antibiotic for strep?
Folks going learn real quick.. can’t say they weren’t warned
What?
All of the big insurance companies make profits in the billions by paying out less than they take in from premiums. Billions. Simple as that. CEO's and c-suite types all make salaries in the millions. I can guarantee you your GP making $175k isnt the problem. You'd have a slightly better case if you talked about hospital admins and those types cause that cost has gotten bad too but the doctors salary definitely isnt. And even if you cut the doctors salary, we're not paying them direct, so those savings go to admins and insurance companies. You really think these billion dollar companies are going to pass those savings on to us?
I dont know how much exposure you have with AI but its a long, long way off from being able to do something like even rudimentary medical practice. Half the time, AI will tell you the best way to clean your phone is to spray it with a garden hose. And thats what you want diagnosing your health?
