I already detailed my experience in NYC in the car thread. Uber drivers made me question my life choices when I was there. Glad that I made it out alive.
This is why I use Lyft almost exclusively now. Took an Uber in SF about 5 years ago and legit thought I was going to die when I felt the driver-side of the car jump up onto the median to squeeze past stopped cars and then cut left on a red light across Van Ness because "not many cars coming." And that was after I got car sick from him playing Forza with me in the backseat to get to that point. NYC had similar experiences but I wasn't paying for those rides so if I die, I die.I already detailed my experience in NYC in the car thread. I'm not NY Tuff. Love the city but my nerves can't handle itThe taxi drivers aren’t any better there lol.
That's been my experience. Dudes have both Uber and Lyft placards in their cars.Uber and Lyft are pretty much the same out here. Some drivers use both.

I’ve been a handful of times. Drove in once…. NEVER again. Driving in through whatever tunnel I drove in through was STRESSFUL. Swear there was less than 4 inches between me and the wall, and me and the car on the other side of me.
The chances the drivers will take when they see any opening. The speed at which they will go to take advantage of said opening. Using sidewalks as extra lanes. Backing up on the freeway when people miss their exit to get to the exit they just missed. This is just a sample of what I dealt with during my week work tripwhat are you guys talking about? we uber'd/lyft'd all over NYC and there was no chance of dying since the fastest we got up to was probably 4mph.
I just mentioned it because that is one of the talking points conservative and centrist pundits are using to make the case for himNobody is going to care about covid next year.
If you can drive here, you can drive anywhere. Racing teams should recruit more NYers. We'd dominate Le Mans. The chances the drivers will take when they see any opening. I have to agree. From what I experienced NYCers use their daily driving as time trials to get their cars right for Formula 1 and Nascar SundaysIf you can drive here, you can drive anywhere. Racing teams should recruit more NYers. We'd dominate Le Mans.

I’ve learned to just pay a few extra for Lyft preferred or Lyft Lux. Drivers seem to give a damn more about your life when they’re actually driving a decent carThat's been my experience. Dudes have both Uber and Lyft placards in their cars.
I only roll with Uber Black now. My firm will reimburse me so I learned from my NY journey that I have to play to pay. I recently dropped off my car for work at the dealership and didn’t want to deal with a Loaner so I took an Uber Black to work for a few days and boy was that so much better. Clean, respectful drivers and snacks. When I took a regular Uber comfort to pickup my car dude was driving in Denver like he just arrived from NYC. Super reckless and crazy. Had to hit him with a 3 star review which I didn’t do even in NYC.I’ve learned to just pay a few extra for Lyft preferred or Lyft Lux.
