We stink right now.. our strength has turned to a weakness.. this bullpen is stinky and our manager should be hit by a bus

$$* you guys still complaining about Marte for? They were gonna bunt anyway...he got that out, then a grounder...He left and was replaced by Hughes and we werestill up by 1 run...if anything blame Hughes...He was way too nervous and you can tell right away....

Swisher really should be on the bench to start game 6.....we would be better off defensively too so Melky would be able to play in RF...and it would add somespeed to the lineup too...

Well I figured it would go 6 games from the start.....We need Pettitte to come up on Saturday

That feeling I had back in '04...ugh. I ain't tryna relive that.

On everything, these !*%#$# better end it Saturday. They already ruined my plans for that night...go to the movies, catch a bird, bring 'em to thecoop...but nope.

Again...I see where y'all are coming from with Hughes and Joba but I had NO problem having AJ out there in the 7th inning. Yes, he had a terrible 1stinning. He turned it around after that tho, remember? I know y'all ain't got short term memory. Dude was like at 80 something pitches, which is good atthat stage of the game. So you leave him out there assuming he was gonna pitch the same way he's been pitching from the 2nd on...have Hughes and Joba inthe bullpen...as SOON as he walks someone or allows a hit, you yank him.

AJ put two guys on base but ultimately it was Hughes that lost the game, not him.

And there is a damn good chance the Angels could be up in this series if they still had K-Rod...
the k-rod who consistently blew games for the mets this year disagrees with you
laugh.gif
Dude blew games when the Mets were out of it and not getting consistent work....dude is light years better than Fuentes.

But good job Fuentes, most relievers choke and walk batters in a spot like that.
I'm surprised you're giving Fuentes that much credit.

He got Damon out on a hard hit ball. Cool. Teix swings at the first pitch like a dummy (
indifferent.gif
). Two outs...you have to intentionally walk A-Rod. He then walks Matsui. He HITS Cano. He gets to a 3-2 count with Nick *+@*$+% Swisher. And then he throws a fastball right down the MIDDLE...honestly, if it was anyone else in thelineup up there besides Swish, we're probably talking about a different game now. But of course Swish pops it up like a *%%$@+.

Swish bailed him out. Fuentes still sucks.

why are some of u still b**ching about marte ? dude did nothing wrong. the guys u wanted in besides him are the ones that wet the bed. real talk , some of usound stupid as %++#.

we're still in control and i like our chances of wrapping it up sat. i said 6 so obviously i expected no less.

calm down fairweather fans, u know who u are ........

I have no faith in Nick Swisher. Especially in that situation. Scott Hairston woulda pulled it out. I have more faith in him then Swisher

I got that 04 feeling deep in my soul. If the Yankees lose this series, IMO it would be worse than 04. Ok maybe not worse but one of the worst.

wow this one hurt bad, don't even want to watch the office I dvr'd, that's how sad I am at the moment lol

just downed half a bottle of wine and i gota wake up early, thanks yanks.....

Exactly... as of now I see no killer instinct with this team. Championship caliber teams need that

we came back from 4-0 and made it 6-4 in one inning, we have the killer instinct, pitching choices down the stretch screwed us not a killer instinct

Fellas, I'm in a small depression
frown.gif
.

I tried posting during that 7th inning, I really did, but my Blackberry didn't let me log in. I've never been that hyped up in my life. I embraced aman hug with one of my boys that I never felt before
laugh.gif
. A few minuteslater, I was heartbroken by Hughes, say it ain't so! It was Hughes and the 1st inning (us not scoring with 2 on 0 out and Burnett giving up 4 runs) thatcost of this game. I thought we had this, I really did. Burnett settled down, we scored 6 runs in the 7th to take the lead, only to blow it. I was upset withhim, but can't be all mad at Swisher as upset I was with Hughes.

The only reason I'm not more upset is because I am confident with Pettitte at home for Game 6. We showed we have comeback capabilities in us, so if it comedown to that, which I hope it doesn't, we are capable of doing so. We just need to score early for Andy and he will do the rest.

Saturday it is....

Edit: SMH at all of you getting at Marte. You all had to know the bunt was coming, nothing Marte could do about that. He got the out after that, did he not? Ifyou are going to get at anyone in the bullpen, it has to be Hughes.

Nah I wouldn't say that. They got 6 runs w/ 2 outs in the top of the 7th after being down by 4...a championship caliber team wouldn't dothat. I'm not gonna !!** on the whole team...it's just a few guys that %$!%#% it up for the rest tonight.

Like I said tho', I hope this is a wake up call to anyone that was planning for Philly...the series was never over after 3-1. Gotta get #4 first...
I have faith in Pettitte, especially at the Stadium. I think it's crucial that the Yankees take the lead first and do it EARLY...that will stop themomentum the Angels have coming off this game. Don't keep giving them hope...

if anything this lineup is showing a great killer instinct. To score 6 when down 4 on the road against a team with its back against the wall is phenomenal. Ithink the problem today was Hughes being counted on to be what he WAS in the regular season but isnt now for some reason. In the regular season his fastballwas unhittable at 96,97 with great control. During the playoffs and tonight not only was his fastball sitting at a pedestrian 94 but his control was off.

Dude never hit 97 on the gun consistently, hell I never even seen him do it once. He was 96 tops. 93-95 was more his avg when he was a reliever. 90-92 whenhe was a reliever. He should have gave Vlad either a Changeup or another curve. Still would like to know why he gave him the heater. Or even that cutter thathe's worked on so hard this past year.

Go Halos!!! Great win!!! However going back to the cold in the bronx is going to be your toughest challenge.

They were talking about it in the postgame. The heater was supposed to be a high chase pitch that he missed over the middle of the plate, he wanted to set up that breaking ball again.

Awful by Hughes. Shakes off Posada and goes with a straight fastball.

Not much to say besides we blew it, but I think were fine in New York. Lets get this over with
