iMPACT WRESTLING

We are moderately warm off of TNA’s Destination X. Was it the greatest PPV? No. Did it have great wrestling? Yes. Was it overbooked? A tad. Were the finishes screwy? No, actually. Did it live up to the hype? Not entirely. Was it the best TNA PPV in a long time? Absolutely.

I won’t get into Destination X too much because there’s a lot to cover. There were high points and low points. The lowest point being when Doug Williams took on Mark Haskins. The biggest problem here was that Doug Williams had to explain to the crowd how Haskins got to TNA. It also didn’t help that Haskins was pretending to be John Morrison. The two had a match which by TNA standards wasn’t bad, but for this event was below par. The highest being the 4 way X-Division match with Austin Aries, Low-Ki, Jack Evans, and Zema Ion. The crowd started off the match with an “Everyone†chant that eventually turned into a “Sign them all†chant. This match was supposed to be a spotfest. They were telling us what it was but it ended up being more. The storytelling in this match was phenomenal. The despair of the workers as they almost scored pins told it all. You could see their anxiety growing when they couldn’t get that three count and the relief when they were watching someone else kick out, making it possible for them to still win. The spots were like nothing I have seen in TNA in years. Moves were well timed, super high risk, and perfectly spread out. Even the promos going into this match were good from the overconfident Aries, to the nervous Evans. Every aspect of this match was great. The pre-match promos cemented the characters who would be in the ring and the wrestlers played these characters perfectly throughout the match. Catch this match when you get a chance.

Generation ME and Orlando Jordan have been released from the company. With that being said Kid Kash has been signed to TNA as officials looks to bring in more X-Division workers new and former. Here’s the official press release regarding that, and Austin Aries.

IMPACT WRESTLING officially announced the signing of X-Division star Austin Aries, in what company officials are signaling as the first of several upcoming signees to a reinvigorated X-Division following the success of Sunday night’s “Destination X†live pay-per-view event. If you missed it, watch the replay of the "Destination X" event on your cable or satellite provider! Aries, who will officially be joining the X-Division roster Thursday night on IMPACT WRESTLING (9pm ET/PT on Spike) earned a contract by winning a four-way match against hopefuls Low Ki, Zema Ion and Jack Evans in an unbelievable bout; IMPACT ZONE fans began a chant of “Sign them all!†after Aries took the win that went worldwide with a #SignThemAll trending topic across Twitter. “Austin’s unique style and intensity will be a great addition to the X Division,†TNA Vice President of Talent Relations Bruce Prichard said. “Aries brings an arrogance and a confidence backed by tremendous physical ability.†In addition to Aries signing, Prichard added, "based off of various X Division performances throughout qualifying events on IMPACT WRESTLING and Sunday night's outstanding “Destination X" pay-per-view, TNA will be signing several new additions to the X-Division roster in coming weeks. “Our goal now is to reinvent and redefine the X-Division as something unique to all of pro wrestling,†Prichard said. As for potential new X-Division Superstars, Prichard said that both former and new X-Division names are currently being considered, and that the evaluation will be ongoing.

Confirmed Matches For Tonight's TNA iMPACT!

Bound For Glory Series Match: Bobby Roode vs. Samoa Joe vs. ‘The Pope' D'Angelo Dinero
Austin Aries vs. Shannon Moore
Tara vs. Madison Rayne
#1 Contender's Match: Mexican America vs. The British Invasion
TNA World Title Match: Mr. Anderson [emoji]169[/emoji] vs. Sting

For the Bound For Glory Series triple threat, D'Angelo Dinero should get the win over Bobby Roode in a continuation of Roode's injury angle (which would also eventually cost him the tag titles in the feud with Mexican America). Dinero would celebrate his tainted win (over someone who's clearly not 100%) with a reluctant Devon and his kids, as this has been the storyline with Devon and the Pope for a few weeks now. Joe will likely do a good deal of the work on Roode as the submission specialist, only for the crafty Dinero to steal the points. This match will also continue the story of Joe’s losing streak. (Which I still fully expect to have Joe come out of as a 100% monster again.)

Austin Aries and Moore will have a good match. If you don’t know Austin Aries by now..get to know him. He could be the CM Punk of TNA if the company plays it’s cards right. Expect Aries to go over to build him up.

Madison Rayne is facing Tara. This is a feud that's been somewhat on the back burner despite a pretty easy setup on paper. Madison basically OWNED Tara for a while there, but we haven't seen them interact much since Mickie James won a match a while back against Madison with the stipulation if she lost Tara would be freed .So, expect there to be more fuel added to the fire of this feud tonight.

Jeff and Karen Jarrett’s surprise for Immortal is Jeff winning the AAA Title down in Mexico. Expect him to flaunt his victory in the annoying way that only Jeff Jarrett can. I don't really know the details on the deal with AAA and who they'd want to take the title back and what their characters would say and do or anything like that, so I'll just say that there should be segments from Jeff in the weeks to come about being royalty in Mexico and the greatest luchador of all time and so on.

As for the main storyline, I think it's really time to make Anderson either fully with or fully against Immortal. Too much flip-flopping and teasing is going on. He says that after last week, they're all even and all on the same page. They have an uneasy truce that will get stronger over time. They plan to gang up on Sting so Anderson will keep the title. Sting will have his own backup, though. Keep in mind Kurt Angle is the new #1 Contender for the World Title. He’s also never beaten Sting.

And last but not least..Miss Assmacher.

i actually read both of Jericho's books in about a 2 week span. Couldn't put 'em down.

I thought A Lion's Tale was much better.
