Whats the deal? His major. There are certain majors and industries which guarantee you 60-80k out ofcollege. Its seems not many NTers have chosen those career paths.

Let me drop one....Oil company engineer.

Anyways are there any NTers who got jobs right out of college at Investment Banks? Entry level Analyst/Traders? Curious to know how much you made out ofschool..........bonus included

Your only half right. Having experience when you are applying for a job is by far the largest factor for hiring in most fields. But the fact is a degree willusually net a person more money than a person with out it. For instance: In Medina (home of bill gates, paul allen and the CEO of costco) the avg income is$155K with over 48% of people at least having a bachelors degree. In Beacon hill where I grew up the avg income is around 28K with only 14% of residents havingat least a BA. And most of that is because of a recent push to gentrify.

RN starting salary is usually around 75-90k, or so i've heard

Nah. Sociology was just my degree I chose to go with during college. The LE career doesn't require a degree but if you do want to move up you'll needsome college credits. I'm not sure whether Detective will be my choice or other branches of the department. I'm not really intrigued by"detective" work.

I just happened to be in the right place at the right time for an internship. Unfortunately I'm working 20+ hours a week plus taking 16 units. I need thissummer badly.

Once I complete that, I'm either planning to specialize as a cardiologist or an oncologist- which takes about an extra 3-5 years.

^I'm not going to lie to you, its a GRIP of work and theres times were you become literally suicidal, but in the end its worth it. Once you get your whitelab coat, and your last name followed by "M.D." its the best feeling in the world.

Unless you know someone rich to finance a gym or know professional athletes to work with for a testimonial there is almost no chance. Its just a dumbed downpre-med degree.

Some people desire education and don't really care for money that much, ya know..

blows my mind...


im reading these posts of cats having these VERY degrees...

Business management
and you making less than 50k? man you should've been working...

most people who went the college route are thinking about their futures.
so yea, right now you're pay scale is almost even but in 5-10 years their earning potential is going to be alot higher than a person who didnt finishschool and who works for someone else
they'll also be in a position to maximize their upward mobility potential.

That Degree opens doors for people. TRUST ME.
some folks are lucky enough to capitalize on it a lot sooner than others
