The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

No, but this $15 is burning a hole in my pocket. Considering either Royal Edition of FFXV or Forsaken

At this point Royal Edition FF15.............since they cancelled the rest of the DLC scheduled to come out for FF15 anyway, so you're technically getting the final game LOL :rofl:

The goal two generations from now is to ditch physical media entirely. Eventually you want almost all physical components to be gone. How do you accomplish this and how do you get people to be ok with it? That is going to start to be addressed in this next generation.

Is their goal to have it all be digital downloads or are they trying to move towards a streaming service like psnow?

They are pushing for subscription, cloud based gaming. The 'consoles' will simply be 'slave' type screens or terminals with no real processing done on the console.

I really want to return to FFXV. I got the plat in 2 weeks after it came out and then left it but there's so much content out there and I haven't kept up at all.
Comrades, Royal Edition, Character DLC are the additions but what are the other changes in game and what else have I missed.

I don't think I'll start the game from scratch but just use my current save file and hope that works.

I’m starting another playthrough. This time I’ll play casually and try and do all post game dungeons plus all DLC.

Damn another 50 hour stint? :lol

I wish I had the time.
What are the big changes compared to vanilla?

I told myself once the PS5 is officially announced, I won’t buy anything else for PS4. I’ll eventually have the time to spare

I’m not really sure about the changes either.

Bad Religion Bad Religion is it just me or does the difficulty in DQXI pick up? I cruised through the first and now I’ve died about 3 times to a few different bosses. I notice most of them get two turns, one where they use some sort of status effect and the other doing massive damage. My party average is ~46.

Damn Veronica :{

It really does. And there is another bit of a bump for post-game content.

You really need to spec your parties with the right abilities. I just wish some of the earlier bosses pushed you to implement some of these strategies instead of rolling them.

I guess I forgot to add that. I’ll play all of the announced games already; TLOU Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone. I’ll probably skip out on Death Stranding and check it out for PS5.

In RDR2 is there like a point of no return?

Like if you beat a certain mission you can’t go back and do all the side quests?

Any of you guys ever change out the fan on your PS4? My joint did an full auto shut down while I was away last night.

I have trouble starting it back up. When it does start up, it doesn't stay on...and thwre is this grinding noise that is starting and stoping.

I go out to get the tools to get the PS4 open...Clean the fan (which is completely filthy) and the power supply. Cut it back on and it seems good to go.

Play it for good measure last night. Play it today...come back home and while it didn't do a full shut down, I hear the fan starting and stoping again.

I only took off the bottom case of the PS4. I didn't want to flip it over to take everything out, but I'm wondering if I need to given just how dirty that thing is. Will need to do it if o have to replace the fan.

What's the difficulty of such a thing?

Several videos on YouTube depending on the model you have. Typically you want to clean the dust of the blades and vents but in your case you may also need to lubricate the fan bearing. If you have a launch model PS4 you might want to look into trading it in (with some additional cash) for a newer model.

Just picked up a PS4 today. I mainly play games on Xbox. Does it make sense to pay for PS+ if I'm only going to be playing single player exclusives?

Not unless you want access to bigger discounts and/or free PS+ monthly games.

Yeah, it's a launch model. Was hoping to not mess with the top of the console/the motherboard. May price out s trade in.
