The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I dont NEED a controller but it's always a good thing to have 2.

Decisions .....decisions

*sidenote* I'm really enjoying the Spyro trilogy. I feel like a kid again. This was one of my first PS1 games, I remember when I got it at Toys R Us. (Ahh the good ole days :nthat:)

Copped RotTR for $15 at GS.

AC: Origins did go on sale for $19.99 at Best Buy, a poster listed it a couple of days ago in this thread. PS and Bestbuy have them for $23.99 if you are still interested

Appreciate the info, but I don't live in the States so Best Buy and Gamestop are no gos.

That's why I basically all digital now. Save money on games not having to worry about shipping fees and customs duties.

Also the way my backlog is setup, I can wait to cop certain games until they're heavily discoounted.

I memba copping the first Tomb Raider reboot for $5.99 on the PS Store. Will only cop RoTR if it's <$9.99.

While these current discounts are nice, it doesn't make sense for me to cop these AAA games now because by the time I finally get around to playing it that's when they could be had for steals.

I grabbed Spyro for my wife Thursday night, and needless to say, I haven't touched the console since. :lol

Finished RDR2's story. Absolutely blown away, even going in with high expectations. There were some slow moments, but the character development was second to none.

I wish there was single player DLC. I absolutely love the world they created. I'll be hunting and messing around in post-game for a while yet.

I bought Spiderman and Valkyria Chronicles 4 and hope to play them before the end of the year, but as it stands now my favorite games of 2018 are:

1. RDR2
2. DQ11
3. God of War
4. Ni No Kuni 2
5. Black Ops 4

I keep forgetting that I have RDR but that is no shade it is just that I’m a fool and have too much ****

Looking forward to it one day though.

Still haven't played RDR2 & i pre-ordered it on RD.

Trying to finish up Spiderman now.....
I told myself if anything beats GOW story/character portrayal etc, it would be RDR2.
Good to hear it lived up to the hype.

PO

GOW developed Kratos into a likable, almost sympathetic character. That in itself was a huge feat.

I just feel like there are 4 or 5 characters in RDR2 that experience real believable growth that helps you invest in their arcs.

Without having played Spiderman, I think if either is awards GOTY, I wouldn't argue.

I also see a game called Celeste getting a lot of praise; I may have to check it out.

For now I’ve given up on RDR2. I’m waiting until I move into my new home and get situated. My GotY is Spider-Man. That game was just plain fun to play. The story itself wasn’t too bad either. My runner up is Dragon Quest XI. I sit at ~62 hours with it. I believe that I just need to go defeat the final boss before I get into the post game stuff but I’m going to try and knock out as much side stuff as possible before beating the game. That and I like to be OP when I take on the last boss in JRPGs :lol

Looks like RDR2 launches today.

And so it begins.
I was looking forward to it until I seen it said Ultimate Edition users today. I get my stuff packed tomorrow so I’ll be 100% on the Switch for the next week :lol

I think if you played Red dead on opening day on Friday it’s available to those users also starting on Wednesday

I’m probably gonna play the online before I ever beat the single player. I’ve only beaten chapter 1 and I have zero interest in hunting :lol

I enjoyed both, but GoW combat > spidey imo

The axe throw and it coming back to you added such an interesting dynamic
