STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

How much of your bench press max should your overhead press be?

Cosign what Boss said, unless you're a super elite bencher/specialist I think 50% is a good ballpark. From what I've seen most people that can OHP 135 cleanly usually can bench 225 or close to it. That was the case for me

ahat ahat me either. Today it took me an hour with big rests because I needed them. Usually I can lnock it out in 45.

For ohp I hear one you hit body weight you're a beast.

Thats not bad then. Do u do 1 muscle group each day or are u doing splits (bi/tri)?

It's only a dl program to get you max up, I just do it on back day.

That's the only program I do. The rest I just do my own thing.

Finally hit a clean muscle up the other day. Im 37. It was a goal that took a while. My biceps and upper back were weak from basketball being my main source of exercise for 20 years.Long reach compounded the problem. I can actually do better dunks now than I ever could too. I feel like I shouldn't tho. Like even tho im stronger, my knees might turn to dust one of these days on lift off.
Maybe my heart is just starting to pump koolaid .
Its tough knowing when to call it .
Probably when you debate it

I do chest and back the same day. I might have to switch that up and start this DL program.

Thats it right? How much more did u put ur desired max?

I like to deadlift so I like it. If you want to improve your deadlift you'd probably like it too.

I put my new max 40 pounds above my last pr. It's been a good number I think. It's challenging but not impossible by any means. I might run this program back again and try 50 pounds in December.

Ima try this next week since this week is a short week, gonna start clean with a full week. Gonna split chest and back up.

For the assistance work are u doing the weight u normally do? For example bent over row u stick with the same weight u were doing before u started the program? And whats a power shrug lol

I dropped the weight a little bit for the circuit and I still don't know what that is. I'll probably just do a barbell shrug.

Damnit decided to go with finish lines green metcons over the red. That makes an extra day i have to wait for them now

Hodge twins always come off as being corny to me. Starting out Chris Jones and Matt Kido(gokuflex) were real helpful to me.

Yikes. I'd say stop immediately, lower the weight and focus on form, but there are super deadlift guys here that can guide you.

Rounding your back like that especially second half of the video isn't safe for your back.

Also I dont know if its preferences but some people like to do the Tap & Go deadlift for reps where the weight taps the ground. Some people let the weight rest all the way to the ground and then lift again making it a pure "dead" lift

Yeah you lift with your arms and then pull up with a rounded back with barely any legs till the top, recipe for injury.
