for the record,

im no big Star Wars fan at all.

i grew up in the 80’s/ 90’s and for some reason missed out on being the Star Wars fanatic most of my peers were.

great movies, love them. something i can watch anytime. but i was certainly late to the party.

that said, i thoroughly enjoyed both Rogue One and The Force Awakens.

i saw no story issues in either film and loved the new direction The Force Awakens was taking, matter of fact i gave TFA 5/5 stars on Letterbox.

What else is there to talk about in the Star Wars thread?

didn't you say that Star Wars has been ruined and is dead for you now? (paraphrased, and maybe someone else said it and not you)? i'm not sure what's left to harp on about something that you now hate after repeatedly stating your case already :lol

I don’t think a month of complaining will justify my disdain for this film. There’s a lifetime worth of slander left.

I like em all.

Maybe my placement of TPM probably threw you off

I’ll always look back on TPM fondly because I was 9 and it was the first SW I ever saw in theaters.

Duel of the fates was probably one of the greatest cinematic experiences of my life word to lamekilla lamekilla
Nah, I just rarely see R1 so low in people's ratings... seems like it usually hovers around 3-5 for most people. But that's the good thing about the saga- different people like different things. These discussions would be boring if everyone agreed on ranking the movies!
IMO Episodes I & II are easily tied for last, far below any other SW movie. But there is stuff I like in each of them, and like it or not, they are still part of the saga. I am def Team OT, but I don't try to act like the PT never happened like some people do.
there was an episode 1?
And there it is.
i just hope boba fett is in it
It'll be a travesty if he isn't.
Exactly. It would be inexcusable NOT to have him in a significant scene, at least.
Star Wars fandom is more alive now than ever before. Conventions are crazy, trailer drops are events on their own, merchandise are top notch. You can say what you
want but these new films are bringing the joy back into being a fan. Take a look back
in 2010 and what you were doing then and take a look at the world now. You're in this forum. People stopped talking Star Wars because there was nothing to talk about anymore.
Now we're here debating ferociously every single day.
What a time to be alive :nthat:

Complaints are being repetitive at this point. We get it, you don't like this this and that.
Like a fly hovering around our ears.

Fam this is supposed to be 'entertainment' and this 'ish ain't entertaining you no more. It's akin to Nike making inline basketball product that takes more than 5-10 minutes to design and has leather materials but we all know that this won't be happening. Just have to move on to something different I suppose or treat this movie as a F&F type film and have no expectations. It's been a few weeks now and the WTF I felt after leaving the cinema has subsided. Will in all likelihood rewatch this when (or if at all) it shows up on Netflix or regular TV.

I think as @vegetaray123 said in the previous page, Disney has a 'winning' formula going on right now that won't be messed with.

Just finding this thread...are we allowed to talk about plotpoints? Or no spoilers?

the repetitive complaints are a direct result of YOU and CP’s refusal to apply context and nuance to the conversation.

the tone deaf replies of YOU and CP are just as repetitive

The cringe was ridiculous when I read that. CP, c’mon dog

I'm not talkin about him dyin that day, or that year, or any of that, I'm saying I was waiting for the day he did pass, his trust, will, whatever would leave the franchise to _____? And at that point they would sell, etc etc and we would start to see new and old stories brought to life. This was a known thing for a while, because George gave no sign that he would ever let go of the franchise, and he of course closed the doors from his perspective. So his passing was all we had to look forward to in terms of getting new material.

I wasn't plotting his death or anything. Relax.

Lmao we saw more (or better) laser sword Skywalker action in Rogue One than in The Last Jedi

BTW, and Ben is like 10 years older than god mode Vader from ROTS? LOL

Lol bruh

I still have no idea how old he's supposed to be. He looks like a grown man but behaves and has the skills of a nerdy 14 year old. Like I said, worst villain in the entire series. I'm not blaming Adam Driver for the portrayal; the character itself is just trash.

It's a shame, cause the trailers for TFA had me hyped to see him, and then all that went to @#$@ once he started his temper tantrums

praiser??
where?

I don't know if you were in the thread enough, but Lame has been 100000000% all in on Rey Skywalker. Long posts, deductive reasonings, little hints and clues he was searching for in TFA, he called The Last Jedi (Luke's daughter) "Poetry"

And then........

:lol He went ape **** soon as he found out he was wrong.

And, if in 9 we do the twist thing again, he may actually be right, and then he'll have to swing all the way back around to how brilliant the trilogy is, The Skywalker bloodline, etc etc. It will be fun.

let me guess, I need to side with you for context to be applied?
My enjoyment in watching Last Jedi will never resonate with you.
Your lack of appreciation of what was done in this film, to me, is just being stubborn. Most of the complaints are REJECTION
of what is being served because you ordered a different film. Not accepting or even considering the rationale behind certain
things is just bland fam. Nut up.
