And why would it be viewed as a failure?

Because he/they will see 400 as being "low" and a "trend" much like he's inferring with TLJ being short of TFA. He will post dumb *** expectations and the film being short of those, random hack pieces from random websites claiming Kennedy/Star Wars is in danger, etc etc.

We'll likely hear comparisons to TPM and AotC, similar to those that were claiming Rogue One was a bust because of 40% reshoots. :nerd:

Rogue made them all look stupid, I believe Solo can do the same. But even I realize it won't do the money Rogue did, but I feel 400/1bill is a fair expectation.

I'm thinking people should boycott sw land in 2019, ****'s gonna be garbage. Oh, who am I kidding, there's going to be millions of heads rolling through that joint. Mo money, mo money, mo money.

The Idea of a whole Land section dedicated to Star Wars just makes you feel like a kid again. Forget the rest of the attractions. If the Mouse pulls this off, I can overlook a weak film here and there. Not too weak mind you. That's unforgivable.

Do you feel obligated to use at least 1 of these 2  and/or  in every post?

To laugh at those that SWORE up and down thru here that Rogue One was an outright failure because of an internet rumor spouting off about reshoots? Yes, I'm obligated. Don't like it? Put me on ignore. Problem solved.

:lol

Not sure why you're putting it in a response to me.. I asked what I would like to think is a rather simple question

I'm simply trying to understand.. until I looked couple mins ago I had no clue rogue 1 made over a bill.. I assumed it was 800 or 900 mill

How much a film makes isn't indicative of the quality of any film.. but you do hope quality films make money, to encourage such films

But I have r1 as my favorite Star Wars movie to date.. that film, to me, showed what could truly be done with the property/universe going forward

I have never said money = good. You're like the 58th person to say that in here. I don't update the box office in here to say quality, I update the money in here as reference to each film. In fact, I was just reading opening day posts for Rogue One.

Take a guess who was knocking the film before seeing it because he spoiled it for himself and he thought it should have gone another way. 8o :lol
I had COMPLETELY forgotten that. Now a lot more makes sense these last 3 weeks.

Never excused you of saying it.. I stated my opinion on the matter

I don't know

Disney didn’t have the creativity or the balls to tell a new Star Wars story from scratch and they will ultimately see that in trying to keep the brand alive for longevity they’ve essentially given it a death sentence. Han Solo will be eaten alive by Deadpool 2 and then Disney will really question why they are trying to keep this 40 year franchise relevant.
they won't question anything when they are successfully doing it. you're speaking in tongues my guy, stop.
Also, I quoted this for when Solo drops and you're going crazy. Words will be eaten.

Listen y’all I really didn’t like the movie...Read my previous posts because I’m not getting into it again...

Honestly though, this thing already brought in over a billion for the studio...If you think anything is changing with the way Disney is handling Star Wars, at least over the next decade, your just being delusional...

IF Solo fails miserably, Episode IX fails miserably, and maybe the following anthology film fails miserably, then we might see a change in direction of the franchise...When I say fail miserably I’m talking the films actually taking losses...

They aren’t changing anything over negative fan reaction to a movie that’s breached the top 20 all time earners in its first month of play...

Good or bad, Solo will probably take a hit...It’ll be blamed on production problems though...The true test will come with IX...My bet would be that people will still see it in droves, not because of excitement to continue this story, but rather to see if they were able to fix some of the issues TLJ had...

The prequels were all subpar but they all made money and we're still seeing even more Star Wars projects lately.
The point is, if those didn't sink the ship, nothing really will.

The current trilogy has TONS of fans and the fans that are turned off will just be replaced by new ones created everyday.
I'm lucky that I've enjoyed all the Disney/Star Wars movies so far.

At the end of the day, some of us just want to enjoy these things because YEARS ago we had nothing.
Nothing to look forward to every Summer and December, no Star Wars anywhere.
I would definitely choose these films(which aren't REALLY that bad) over nothing at all.

And that's what will keep Star Wars alive for decades to come.

Star Wars fandom is more alive now than ever before. Conventions are crazy, trailer
drops are events on their own, merchandise are top notch. You can say what you
want but these new films are bringing the joy back into being a fan. Take a look back
in 2010 and what you were doing then and take a look at the world now. You're in this
forum. People stopped talking Star Wars because there was nothing to talk about anymore.
Now we're here debating ferociously every single day.

Lol were there new Star Wars films in 2010?

I spoiled the movie for myself and the same complaints I have with the film are being echoed universally.

Bruh, either you're a coconut or a person.
That's the point of what I just said.

In 2010 we had nothing and Star Wars was not in people's minds 365 days a year.
Now it is.
If I had to explain that... I worry about you. Seriously, are you good fam?

Star Wars is being talked about because there are new films out, marketing and merchandise is more present than it has been in recent years but just because “we had nothing” in 2010 doesn’t mean we should worship these new Star Wars film and over look egregiously glaring plot holes and points. Like I mentioned earlier I’m not the only one that noticed.

Lmao we saw more (or better) laser sword Skywalker action in Rogue One than in The Last Jedi

These thoughts just keep popping into my head and they make me shake it.

Man we watched Vader pull a combination of Magneto and Vega from Street Fighter on a bunch of hapless rebels.

And then we watch his grandson who allegedly surpasses him in TLJ, struggling not to get choked out by normies?!

BTW, and Ben is like 10 years older than god mode Vader from ROTS? LOL

Luke Skywalker out here casting genjutsu instead of fighting or generally doing something cool? What?

Lol bruh

In 2010 I was devouring Star Wars novels and dreaming of the day Lucas died so we could "open up the vault" so to speak.

I had no idea George would actually sell someday, and someday soon bein it was only two years later. I still, to this moment remember the exact spot I was standing in at work when I checked my Twitter and saw the note, 7 minutes old, that Disney purchases Lucasfilm for 4 Billion, Star Wars 7 to release in 2015. This thread was created a few minutes later. :lol

Luke doesn’t believe in the Jedi anymore but lives on an ancient Jedi island and wants to persevere its sacred text...

I paid money for this :smh:

and you're still talking about it, too. maybe time to move on?

no one said we should worship these new movies. did anyone say that? no one said to overlook anything.
I just stated that it's a good time to be a Star Wars fan again. If you're gonna take that away from people
that are enjoying the current wave... you shouldn't.

This "civil war" has to end. We gotta stop convincing each other because no one is turning here. Just let the
fans of the current ones be fans.
