re: devaluation of associates degrees, aside from the provision that grades have to be maintained, you have to imagine that not everyone will take advantage of this. I'd bet there's more than a few Joe Slackers out there perfectly fine to do unskilled labor and live that life, college isnt for everyone and i'm sure everyone knows a lot of people who hated high school. Plus there will always be demand for grocery store workers, garbage men, waiters, etc. so work will be available. Like the problem today, unemployment is high for unskilled work, and yet theres a massive shortage of doctors/medical professionals. Obviously not everyone wants to/can be a doctor but if someone wants to pursue higher education, good for them adding to the skilled/educated workforce. They just have to do something about the minimum wage to make unskilled labor feasible to live on.
