Report: Nuggets are willing to trade Carmelo

Today - 10:20 AM ET

The Nuggets have been "quietly gauging trade interest" in Carmelo Anthony for weeks and are now "considering a strategy" to part ways with their star scorer, a league source tells the Denver Post.

The Nuggets don't want to lose their superstar for nothing like the Cavs and Raptors did with their respective franchise players this summer. Now that Anthony has reportedly made it very clear that he's going to walk after this season, the wheels are in motion. Look for the Nuggets to try to pull off a sign-and-trade, and the Knicks will likely be among the first teams to come calling.

If the nuggets are smart they WILL NOT trade him within the conference. If NY does come calling what package can they offer the nuggets in order for them to part ways with him by the trade deadline? It'll be cool to see him land in DC for some reason.

Chicago should be working the hotlines as well. Melo could be that missing piece.

Any Nuggets fans out there care to explain what direction the team is going now? Trading Melo essentially means giving up in trying to beat the Lakers in the West.

Damn its starting to seem like its rebuilding time out in the mile high city. It is safe to say that even if they are to find a way to keep melo, the nuggets just don't have the roster to contend against the lakers anytime soon and even the upstart thunder within a couple of seasons. Melo wants out before it gets ugly lol

Knicks gave the Rockets the rights to swap picks in 2011 and 2012 pick (top 5 protected)...Knicks might be weary of giving away two picks (max you can trade away) but for a chance at Melo they might do it.

If the Knicks have a chance at Melo/Amare combo with Paul looming, they have to do whatever it takes.

If Melo leaves the west, good lord, there won't be anything left out here.

if melo is to move east, well lets see what stars would be residing in the eastern conference

melo
bron
bosh
d-12
d. wade
boozer
rose
STAT and im sure there are many more that are up and coming for example wall, noah, jennings, etc....

Jeez the east will do circles around  the west as soon as kobe retires lol

That "All for one. One for all." on the inside back collar is very suspect, though... I hope that is just reserved for the replicas.
