I am totally in favor of trans rights but it's a losing issue for Democrats. You can draw a straight through line from the trans bathroom stuff in 2016 until now.

It's a tiny issue that doesn't impact many people but a lot of normal Americans view it as very weird and have strong opinions on it. It sucks to have to do this to trans people but if I were a Democratic strategist I would distance myself from trans people and totally abandon trans issues. For whatever tiny minority of people you are winning over, you were losing many more

It’s not a battle democrats are even really fighting

It was moreso republicans harping on that and immigration when they needed something to suggest they were/are fighting for women when reproductive rights came up

But then again, I blame the current state of journalism because they take that stuff seriously when they can look at the data and the real world of these things and not the perception of things

Dems are never winning a presidential election again.

I wouldn't say all that. I remember after Obama won his second term there were people saying you would never have another Republican president again. There's always an ebb and flow.

Unfortunately I do feel pretty confident in that we will never have a female president. Republicans would never nominate a woman and Dems are about to be 0 for 2 with female candidates.

In 2024, the majority of America supported an impeached ex president who caused an insurrection against his own country just because he was a big loser in the 2020 presidential elections. And this convicted felon president is the leader of America again.

I remember saying either last year in 2023 or early Jan/Feb 2024 im not looking forward to the 2024 elections. And I said in some other post these days people are backwards or upside down.

This is the result. America is delusional voting for Trump and supporting him.

I agree that Democrats aren't fighting for this issue but support for trans rights is costing Democrats elections because it gives Republicans ammunition. Democrats rarely bring up trans rights but Republicans use it in attack ads constantly.

Unfortunately Democrats need to pivot farther back to the center if they want to win back normies

how much faith has american voters lost in the Dem party to vote for Trump again :smh:
who is in that party is next in line in 2028? they got to have a plan immediately and try and convince those voters that are in the middle once again

dems got to play that dirty politics game

Losing issue, I told y’all over a year ago.

It's been downhill for the Dems since they screwed over Bernie in 2016... It's crazy that he's a tier ahead of any of the candidates we've gotten from either side but he'll never get a fair shot at presidency because of optics and politics.

We do seem to be in a moment of downright civilizational shifts.

The era of wealthy and poor nation states is receding. The world is becoming a place with a global managerial core and a global working class.

Those elites will cluster in cities and will want an educated work force. They will get this, in part, by receiving the brain drain coming from an increasingly uneducated and parochial global countryside.

We seem to be reverting to an historical mean. The majority live in the countryside as serfs and they are ruled over by a few lords who do not prize economic planning and investing in human capital. Meanwhile, economic dynamism, cultural output, and (relative) social tolerance will reign in the cities.

We are living in an interesting times, a slow but steady reorientation.

For me, as a black man in the United States, who thinks of himself as bi partisan with a few conservative values, this election always boiled down to and started with honesty and integrity first.

In addition, I just could never vote for anyone that took out a full page ad in one of the most famous newspapers in the world calling for the execution of 5 innocent people that just happened to look like me, and never apologizing for the mistake.

My concern is that we are in the beginning stage of dictatorship and the death of democracy. Maybe that's true, maybe it isn't. I honestly am not sure.

If it isn't the beginning stages of fascism and it's just gonna be 4 more years of the same thing.

Welp, ok.

But if the way we live is coming to an end if Trump wins, it's a sad day for this country.

God help us.

i don't even think they need to do all that.

they just need to talk like normal people.

personal freedom = good.
weird culture war stuff = stay away.

kamala started doing the right thing on it, but the 2019 (the worst primary in history of primaries) just came back to haunt her.

Delusional?? You thought people would vote Kamala out of hate for Trump, but many people actually voted for Trump because they didn’t want a woman president who was tossed in last minute like a substitute teacher offering only a nervous smile and a bunch of hand movements.

America is for Americans. Harris said nothing her whole campaign literally nothing

whatever happens the DNC needs to figure out a way to make sure the 2019 democratic party never happens again.

having a bunch democrats try to out bid each other on how far left they can go,
for policies that will never pass into law.

was so unbelievably damaging

Is it too early for a postmortem? Could any Democrat have won this election under these conditions? Do you guys think Kamala was just a poor candidate? Could a white male candidate like Shapiro or Kelly have done better?

Looking back on things Democrats botched this entire election dating back to Biden stating his intention to run for reelection. Democrats quickly coalesced around Harris in order to avoid the chaos of an open primary 3-4 months before the election but given the disastrous results we are seeing now, would Democrats have performed better with a different candidate?

But what’s the center?

Fox News continues to have Riley Gaines on, the girl who came tied for 5th with lia thomas years ago

Swimmings governing body has dealt with the issue and lia Thomas is no longer allowed

I don’t remember a single democrat talking about the issue.. which again, was resolved years ago now

It’s like “migrant caravans”, 1 of a small handful of things I’m going have to hear about until they find something else to add to the small list which somehow gets taken seriously

I think Kamala ran a great campaign given the circumstances (only had a around 4 months to campaign, crushed Trump in the debate, etc). I'm not sure what else she could have done.
