Not gonna lie I feel the same way. I don’t care how I look. Figure that **** out. Cheat like the republicans if you have too.

Like it’s crazy on one side you have a lack of actual thought regarding policy but a mastery of figuring out how to implement stupidity for its own sake. Then on the other side you have actual deep thinkers on policy that seem incapable of implementing their ideas because they are dogmatic to rules that they know don’t favor them.

So basically your stance is "I don't care what the constitution says, figure something out"

Yeah, it doesn't work like that

I know it sucks, student loan forgiveness dying is the consequence of Dems losing a bunch of close elections

It sucks, but the takeaway from this shouldn't be that the guys trying to do good are to blame when things go bad

This is part of why I've lost interest in following American politics. On one side, we have idiots who want to burn it all down, and on the other, we have peeps like CTG.

What do you mean, "if I can do it without looking like I'm caping for Democrats, I will"?

How about caping for the truth, regardless of who gets to look good?

By now, you should know the story of why the Supreme Court is the way it is; you should know why they pick the issues they want to weigh in on; you should know about who they repaying for propping them up.

There are a lot of people that care more about appearing like a "free thinker" than actually just accepting the truth
A lot of American journalists and media personalities are simply naive. I blame it on the fact that our cultural environment is very insular and self-absorbed, so most Americans are faintly aware of what happens to press freedom when autocrats take power. How many have talked about Israeli protests against the Bibi government's attacks on their judiciary?

I understand the general frustration with the current administration, and I suppose it is easy for me to speak casually about the issue of student loans because I'm no longer affected by it, but I would expect CTG's criticism to come with some context about who is doing what in congress and the courts.

I would also expect him to show some sense of self-preservation in regards to where they (media people) could be with a Republican administration. It's not like a magical third party is going to take power if Democrats lose control of the House and White House. And as shown in Florida, we should expect that Republicans have already drafted bills that will threaten the existence of shows like the Breakfast Club, which has been a platform for all kinds of Black thoughts and personalities, including some individuals that will be used to fuel the Right's messaging about the need to regulate certain Black thinkers and topics out of the public debate.

Stupid, stupid people...

The thing with these dummies is if it were Republicans or some other repugnant figure they would easily say it because it's the "truth" and you can't judge everyone.

We all knew student loans wouldn’t get forgiven. I always said I’ll believe it when I actually see it done.

It’s not a wrap yet though. Maybe if they court learned from the whole abortion thing but I doubt it.

It’s a shame everyone will get bailed out in this country except the people who need it but what do you expect?

"Can't abide by the constitution because the House building isn't big enough" has to be one of the stupidest takes in American politics today.

I can’t quite put my finger on why this case might be treated differently…

The president can add justices to the court unilaterally?
Bro, you laugh but I have seen Republicans cheat consistently and successfully since 2000 and then run on cheating more.

Cheating and breaking the rules takes time and preparation

If Bubba from Mississippi can spend his whole life figuring out how to legally discriminate and end abortion I would like to see the Dems at least start discussing out how to pack the court or how to get around the Supreme Court if they rule against this.

Like I said one said has good ideas and no follow through, meanwhile the other side is as dumb as dirt but knows how to trickle that dirt down on everyone else.

They haven't broken the rules, they have broken norms, but they captured the courts legally.

Partially because too many people stayed home in 2014, and 2016.

What you are saying here is not rational

Seems like you are starting from the point that Joe Biden must be blamed for not find a rabbit to pull out of a hat, and working backward from there.

They votes were not there to pass forgiveness through Congress, for killing the filibuster but somehow there are votes for packing the Supreme Court so an executive order can pass? Also, you need the House to agree to add Justices too.

So what magic you think Biden can work on Kevin McCarthy?

C'mon man

Rusty I respect your level headedness and I know I get mad but this time I do have a case.

Once you get into the policy, there is a reason I have a grudge. Mostly because Biden could have forgiven FFEL loans and Perkins loans. There is literally a statute in section 20 U.S.C. 1082(a)(6) of the 1965 Higher Education Act that allows him to forgive those bank loans but he got scared so they went in the opposite of that approach and denied those loans forgiveness to take this approach with the heroes act. They incorrectly thought they could get it off easier by not angering the banks and now no one could have forgiveness. These bank backed loans were not part of Biden’s stall either so people have been paying them nonstop too.

But it goes deeper than that I can tell you right now how they could get around this. Simply create a repay options that forgive that amount and more. Go nuclear and say **** it if you can’t afford it we will make payment plans that essentially forgive the loans based on being in a income based plan that doesn’t need any payment and unlike the current plan we don’t tax that amount as income once it’s forgiven. Lesson the public loan service forgiveness to 5 years instead of 10. I am a big believer these loans held by the government shouldn’t accrue interest, forgive the interest. There are options here.

Also, yes Dems need to start talking about packing the courts because let’s be honest here. All the ******* we’ve seen by these backward state governments is because they strongly believe the SC will back them up if the federal government tries to make them abide by federal law. Iowa is trying to outlaw gay marriage because they think the SC might go around federal statute law protecting it. We got mass book bannings because the federal government is scared to step in for the first amendment because they don’t know if the SC will judge against them. This loan forgiveness is a symptom of a much bigger problem that the Dems need to begin to contextualize for their voters. State rights do not supersede the federal government. We fought a whole war over that yet this SC seems to think different.
