Of all the words he chose to put on there, he picked honor and respect

300k and starter home?

Feels like an oxymoron to me 😭😭
Welcome to house pricing in 2023 in any slightly developed market.

I'm in thr process of buying a home now. My pre-approval amount was less than 300K. And the VAST majority of options I saw in my price range were described as "investment opportunities"...aka pieces of **** that need 5 to 6 figures in work.

Pre Covid it was different. I got my house for 200k in a good neighborhood.

Housing to income is good though. Good jobs are plentiful here. I’d take a pay cut damn near everywhere compared to here.

sounds goods but i can't move from the cold to the cold, that's a wild backwards hustle.

plus I work in media, so im kinda limited to vancouver, toronto, LA. NYC ect maaaybe Atlanta.

everywhere with nice weather is always expensive or the jobs pay like garbage.

Guess that makes sense though. :lol

Man I thought prices were starting to come back down. Even with these high a** interest rates they aren’t moving that much are they.

I don’t think so. It’s come down a little here and it’s not a bidding war every house but with the interest it’s a wash or more expensive still.

He’s right. Like why is it so hard for people to accept assault rifles shouldn’t be readily available it’s a military grade weapon. You’re not suppose to shoot deer or protect your home with an assault rifle. You want to play with it, go to a shooting range and test it out and then go home.

It’s a ******* travesty that this is a debatable issue. I am not pro-gun but I can reasonably wrap my head around gun ownership to a point, but wanting an assault rifles seems Psychotic to me.

SN to post ratio checks out.

But yeah, some of the mental gymnastics I hear in arguments for why people need them… sad.

A few years ago, on a bachelor party weekend, I spent time at a range. I fired a few rounds from a revolver to be a good sport, but it was the first (and hopefully last) time I’d discharged a firearm.

For everyone else, the range paraded out a series of increasingly more deadly weapons. The penultimate was an AR-15. The overwhelming consensus among the people that fired the half-dozen or so weapons (including an AK-47) was that the AR15 was far and away the easiest to handle and operate. I think the quote of they afternoon was from the groom, “You have to be impressed with such an amazing piece of engineering. It’s just so easy to use. These should definitely not be legal to own.”

(The last was a fully automatic rapid firing gun. Apparently incredibly scary to fire. Although to a tee, each person who did would turn around a look back at the group with a maniacal grin)

Exactly I get that there is a thrill out of using powerful gun but **** Hard Drugs are a lot of fun too, and everyone knows they shouldn’t be widely proliferated because they are dangerous.

Regular People need a bump stock about just as much as they need a bump of Cocaine.

I saw that other people got that thrill, but I hated the entire experience of even holding a loaded weapon. It’s just too much power and responsibility. It reminded me of my aversion to heights.
