Seriously, it seems like every large blue State should ruthlessly gerrymander away as many GOP districts as possible. California could probably get rid of every GOP seat through gerrymandering.

We know what Florida and Texas are trying to do, seems appropriate to counter it as best as possible.

If DC gets its act together and passes a new VRA, then blue States could gladly go back to neutral districts since Texas and Florida would have neutral districts as well.

Absolutely. Districts need to look like Mandelbrot sets.

Eric Holder needs to sit in a corner on this one

How fast would the GOP throw a hissy fit over this if it happens.

This ending to the Afghanistan war was already predicted by many when it started…Multiple ppl kept it going for far too long but Bush and em set everybody, especially the citizens of that country up for failure from jump …This bs is all on them :smh:

They Coulda kept it going for another 20 years and results would be the same unfortunately, had to get outta there and let it play out at some point…Biden will be the bad guy for this but it is what it is, dealt a bad hand

Cali could end gerrymandering altogether if they coordinated the effort properly

Pass a constitutional amendment allowing gerrymandering in the state.

Gerrymander the **** out of the state

Severely hurt the GOP's chances in the House

GOP throws a fit, then offer them a deal where gerrymandering is abolished everywhere, with a constitutional amendment.

Dealt a bad hand and playing it even worse.

That said I do think the discourse needs to move past the blame game and on to the solution game. Agree with folks saying we’ve gotta let refugees in.

Also I’ve gotta say it’s weird that guys like tucker are already worried about these people becoming dem voters. If you can’t keep conservative god-fearing folk conservative, then maybe your platform is trash?

About as fast as the GOP getting upset over withdrawing from a war they started and that they also just a few months ago decided to commit to the withdrawal.

I'll be hopeful once I see that they don't **** up the recall first.

Not to doom post, but I already am preparing myself for Larry Elder winning, then Feinstein dying not long after.

Swinging the Senate back to Mitch

Liberal incompetence is due for something to blow-up in their face
I said it before, and I'll repeat it again: when you compare the rhetoric to the actions of both parties, the GOP preaches unapologetic individualism and competition but practices teamwork much better than the Democratic party, whose members can't seem to act cohesively even though the party platform is based on cooperation and sacrifice for the greater good.

It's ridiculous.

She basically confirmed what we already been saying for the past 5 ½ years: Conservatives party is Vanilla Isis

Agreed, they're both in the extreme part of the spectrum and use religion as an excuse to be hateful. The sick part is, their personal beliefs almost completely goes against God or Allah's teachings.

This country learned nothing from its invasion of Vietnam and the fall of Saigon.

Barbara Lee knew from the jump this **** would not end well

Gavin Newsom will probably survive this recall but it f he does, it will have been despite himself. His campaigning sucks.

He’s relying entirely on negative mobilization by calling the recall a “Trump Republican” effort. The negative mobilization isn’t working, at least not in his favor. Newsom isn’t saying any about the material stakes within state politics and he hasn’t gone negative or mentioned Larry Elder at all. Larry Elder, not Donald Trump, is on the ballot, run negative ads against him for God’s sa

Negative mobilization is working in the GOP’s favor though. Every single registered Republican is engaged because mask mandates have them genuinely angry. That and the fact that Newsom hasn’t put each and every unhoused person in a concentration camp, has republicans livid.

Newsom is not campaigning and meanwhile, Larry Elder has every Republican poised to vote “yes” on the recall and Elder, himself, can just vaguely promise to solve problems, any and all problems, in California. There’s polling showing that a lot of younger voters will vote “yes” on the recall because they think that removing Newsom will mean a humane, housing-first end to the homelessness crisis, in particular, and the crisis of u affordable housing, in general.

Newsom needs to campaign and: acknowledge the real problems of housing in the State and explain why the GOP would make it worse; contrast himself with Larry Elder; acknowledge people’s frustration with Covid restrictions returning; and point out how much damage a Republican Governor will cause to ordinary Californians, especially how many people will lose their low and no cost healthcare, as well as how much danger your undocumented friends and family will face under a Republican Governor.
