Carlos, what makes you think that Parker is leaving after next season? I mean, he is a starter, and a key player to the team.

His contract is up after next season. He'll be 35, and he isn't part of our long term plans. I dont think BC will give a 35 year old a long term extension especially when we'll have some decent cap room next summer.

To put it bluntly, Parker is replaceable.

But hes not playing like he's 35...
Yeah, I know he isnt part of our long term plans, but as of right now, hes helping more than we could ask.

This seems like a good trade for the Spurs. They wouldn't know what we would get from Brent Barry whenever he got back from his injury and Elson hasn'tbeen producing at all when he's on the court. Thomas will hopefully help the Spurs if they should see the Lakers or the Suns in the playoffs.

This is a great trade for the Spurs. A great character guy who provides good interior D and a reliable mid-range jumper.
I don't know why nobody brings up the character issue with Artest. I can't imagine Pop or Geoff really wanting to deal with Artest, unless theyexpected a Randy Moss type transformation.
