It only sounds dumb to me because it follows New Orleans. It doesn't sound as bad if it were Louisiana Pelicans.

I like it. Never been a big fan of the name but they did a good job with it. The font is nice and the logo is better than half the crap in the NBA.

I'm digging the logo but EHH on the color scheme. They should have used the current mardi gras inspired colors.

I like it. I may pick up a shirt the next time I get a chance to go to a game (shirts are already on sale on the nba site, but I'd rather get one locally) I didn't hate the idea of them being called the pelicans as it lets Charlotte get the Hornets name back, and god knows Hornets is a way better name for them than the Bobcats. Color scheme is a bit ehhh though, too many teams wearing blue/red but since red is the third color Blue and Gold with red accents shouldn't be too bad.

The more I look at the logo more it looks like an Indianapolis 500 logo.
