As many times as that exaggerated example has been posted think for a second if Silver actually did that Just straight up presented Sterling's head on a pike GoT style at the conference. What did some of you want done? Silver to execute him in public?
Can't please everyone I guess
That's you feel, and that's cool. I have no problem with that.I like to see things how they are.
I believe the truth is always more boring than fiction.
I don't believe in illuminati, secret societies, or any of that nonsense.
But...
no confidence homie with that lead in before you make a point
Yea that's what I'm saying.
He's still gonna make an insane profit and nothing's stopping that as of now.
People talking about "hurting" Sterling miss the point.
The actions taken are not intended to hurt anybody, but to save the integrity of the NBA as an organization and stand up for the dignity of all its employees regardless of race / religion / sexual orientation.
Silver handled it well, and set a precedent for the future, a future of zero-tolerance for bigotry.
Whether or not it "hurts" Sterling is a non-issue.
So no one think the punishment is to steep?
A bandaid not just about Sterling, but racism in america as a whole. You think Sterling is the only one in the NBA with his mentality?no it isn't.
If it was a short suspension and fine then yes, but this is about as harsh as you can hope for without a jail sentence
as a Black man, I can tell you the best thing you can do is regard things with calm, cold rationality and do not let emotions cloud your judgment.I feel you, BUT.
I do want to hurt him, as a Black man.
"What will you get out of it?"
My blood lust for him will be satiated.
I've seen a few other NTers who think so that have pretty bogus reasoning. So no one think the punishment is to steep?
There are some extreme wish-ful activists here, calling for un-necessary types of protests. There's no need to make this bigger than it already is. There's no need to tell fans and players to boycott cames and start some MLK type movement.
both of you srs?So no one think the punishment is to steep?
what should have been done? rather than post of picture or a band aid, speak...
this is ALL stupid.
so unnecessary.
everyone took L's, the cum bucket is the worst of all here,
obviously dude was about to cut her off, im sure she tried to get money out of him using the tapes as leverage but dude didnt care.
alot of these team owners have the same exact mentality as sterling but they arent stupid to mess with escorts who have no morals.
that clippers "silent protest" was a complete joke...
those dudes dont care, and have been cashing massas checks for years even though its always been known how dude has felt about the brothas.
Yeah but the longer he fights the less the is worth, if he sells now atleast he would get more now then when the players start leaving. I think more likely he'd try an end around like trying to sell to a family member to keep the team in the familyThe war has just begun though...
If/when the owners vote for him to sell his team.
Best believe he's going to put this through litigation for years.
I feel you, BUT.
I do want to hurt him, as a Black man.
"What will you get out of it?"
My blood lust for him will be satiated.
as a Black man, I can tell you the best thing you can do is regard things with calm, cold rationality and do not let emotions cloud your judgment.
Not telling you what to do, I'm just saying.
What happened brah, not watching right now
In contrast to him lauding Silver for his actions today,What did he say? I loathe Stephen A. SmithYo....

I know you didn't think any ruling on Sterling was gonna solve the problem of racism in America as a wholeA bandaid not just about Sterling, but racism in america as a whole. You think Sterling is the only one in the NBA with his mentality?no it isn't.
If it was a short suspension and fine then yes, but this is about as harsh as you can hope for without a jail sentence
The racist blood runs deep in the NBA and many other pro sports. The black athletes are the same as plantation workers and slaves. They're just money makers.
Not many are willing to do what it takes to make a real change. They're too comfortable with their money a lifestyle
Silver didn't have to give him a life time ban and could have went easier on him, but he didn't.
In contrast to him lauding Silver for his actions today,
she basically stated that there is nothing to be applauded today; as what he did was his job and that alone.
She continues to point out that the NBA stood by with the knowledge of Sterling's character all these years,
today's actions are nothing but hypocritical.
Stephen A. Smith retorted with pointing out the hypocrisy of the local chapter of the NAACP.

both of you srs?
Yeah the "more to the story" was between the lines. When he started saying he was getting phone calls and "this is the culture"; "this is how it is, it'll never change" He was outing info that should've never hit the public. Everyone is looking at him and he's the sacrificial lamb for all those other people. THEY definitely don't want millions of kanye protege's running around screaming new slaves. They want to hit this guy hard, sweep it under the rug, and go on about their business as usual.
Both are hacks. Silver should've banned both of them too...

this isn't a step towards real change? that negativity is the same thing that discourages real change
