**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Lakers have a top five offense with D'Lo playing like **** (admittedly he's passing well). At a certain point, it's diminishing returns having him out there.

Better off rounding out the team with size, defense, athleticism, etc.

Bingo.

He's only useful on one side of the ball when he's been good, let alone when he's been a bum. Rui got size but doesn't really use it and is a space cadet on the other end.

We need all of what you expressed in the last part.

Injury?

If he has no impact, then what makes you think he has any trade value while making $12 mill a year?
That’s up to Rob to make happen.

Nunn, Westbrook, etc all those guys we had who supposedly had no trade value and wasn’t Rob able to find takers?

Go get one of them please

Everyone late to the party.

Lakers ought to hire me if they want to win a championship

Get it done Rob

This is about the best option to improve the roster without giving up a FRP and still allow them to sign a 3&D wing with the TPMLE

DFS, Cam, Grant - None of these guys are worth 1 let alone 2 FRP’s. Why not negotiate the Bulls to give a FRP for taking Lavine.

Zach / Dinwiddie or Lowry / Bronny
AR / Knecht / Christie
Bron / TPMLE / Lewis
AD / Wood / Hinson
Vuc / Hayes / Castleton

Options for TPMLE - Sadiq Bey, Lonnie Walker, Gary Trent Jr, Gordon Hayward, Jae Crowder, Marcus Morris, Rob Covington, Doug McDermott

Utah will want to fleece the Lakers for draft picks even though they have a ton of cap space to absorb multiple contracts.

I still think Lakers best bet is to fleece Chicago for a FRP and acquire Vucevic and Lavine

Lakers have been trying to acquire Vucevic since like 2021. Although he isn’t Kessler defensively, he is a stretch 5 who can shoot the three and has size and has averaged double digit rebounds his entire career

Ntm 2 years at $20 mil per for Vucevic coincides with Bron and AD’s contracts too

Get it done Rob

Capela would be really good insurance at center, and AD re-learning how to shoot opens two big lineup possibilities. They would have to worry about re-signing Capela in the off-season though. I've never been a Hunter fan, but he offers some two-way play. But he's expensive and injury prone. This trade would also open a roster spot and get them further from the second apron, but they would need a backup point guard bad.

Don't think the trade would change the Hawks' season too much. Their offense dies when Trae and Jalen Johnson sit, so it may actually end up improving them with D'Lo and Rui's arrival. And they get a future first rounder for their troubles.

Is it worth sacrificing a first rounder for these two? I don't know.
