**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

We need a more defensive presence. At this point, with how DK has been playing, Rui, DLo, a couple picks is the deal I'm willing to make. I'm not completely off of Vando yet.

AD dominates damn near every team but can never seem to make a similar impact vs DEN.

And why is it that Michael Porter Jr has looked like an All-Star and averaged at least 10 rebounds per game in his last 15 games against the Lakers but looks average against any other team?

Y’all already know the answers cause I’ve been drilling it on this thread the last 4 years

Get Vando up outta here

Same with DLo, Rui, Gabe, JHS, Lewis.

That is SIX NON IMPACT players on this team. This alone lets you know how far away this ball club is from being a legit playoff contender

Let’s face the truth: right now, the Lakers Suck

Vando has no impact?

Vucci would be a solid pickup.

Praying we can get a guy like Malcolm Brogdon on the buyout market this spring.

Team doesn't really need a 3rd scorer, or to necessarily get the better individual player in any DLo/Rui trade... what they do need to get is players who are a better fit around Lebron and AD.

I've been saying this forever, those guys don't play winning basketball... the sooner the Lakers move on the better.

Sure.

Better fit around AD is DLo.
Better fit around Bron is AR.

But it’s hard to really imagine that DLo+Rui for DS and DFS and fodder is really going to do anything other than make them worse in other spots.

If you’re saying hey between DLo and Rui you need better fitting guard and forward, okay.
The path to get there is pretty unlikely. And more likely that the team will flaunder than out the gate

If you truly want to raise the ceiling, and are serious about it…… AR has got to be on the table too. If he isn’t the odds they are worse are higher. Just because AR has a value contract for the next 16 months, and he plus the bad Gabe contract and a hopefully promising Max contract gets you the ability to get that All Star Caliber player.

Summation if it’s I want to replace two of the top 5 guys in my rotation and not address 6-12 at all, they are not any different as a team.

It'd only be replacing one of them cause Knect is a more important piece than D'Lo and Rui right now.

D'Lo has been so *** this season it's not even funny.

You thought he was **** last year when he had the best 3 point shooting season in Lakers history.

What difference does it make? When the team is better when he’s on the floor even if personally he’s having a ****** start. Same with they are better when AR plays than Gabe or Max. You replace DLo you still are playing Gabe and Max a ton.

Besides the point. Dennis for DLo doesn’t make them better. And DLo for a forward that’s available for him doesnt make them better. And Rui for a guard available for him doesn’t make them better.

The problem will always be 7-12 than it is 3-6, even if 3-6 could be better.

Also if Knecht is an important piece (we agree), DLo is also your guy there as much as Austin

Never thought I’d see Dlo throwing up multiple air balls in the same game, lookin like rookie Lonzo.

Bruh be saying anything but trade DLo :lol . We're all in agreement, he gotta be packaged in any deal we make.

Group think is fun, doesn’t mean group think is right.

If you can find a better guard and not get gouged out of a bunch of picks then go ahead, trade him.

Problem is they’re unlikely to. And almost every trade is filling one hole by creating an even bigger hole.

That’s the difference.

So unless they trade 6-7 guys and bring in 6-7 guys, which never goes well because you then have to revamp everything…. The actual real way to make the team better is fix the Gabe, Max, Cam, Vando, Wood, Hayes problem first. When you end up with 100 minutes of game time to guys who are too injured or are not even doing anything or whatever they do isn’t much different than end of the bench guy. You lose the margins. And any guys you do have that contribute have to play mistake free ball always.

It's really simple.

We know our top 3 guys are trustworthy playoff players.

We know for a fact that D'Lo isn't and Rui was pretty poor last one.

Even as a rook, I believe Knect has that moxy and more importantly he's an actual shooter so he's more valuable.

Use the picks and whatever else to remove the trash and supplement MVP level AD, still really good Bron and the milkmen with the West being how wide open it is. There's a bigger window and opportunity to do real damage than last season, not as many threats, just can't play Denver under any circumstances, but not with this squad as is to be a real contender.
