**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I see Lakers fans still think AD gonna be playing the 5 full time next season even after “The type of player that James would be willing to make a financial sacrifice for would be ... an established big man to play alongside Anthony Davis -- like Jonas Valančiūnas, sources told ESPN.”

Isn't AD at the 5 a losing proposition? Show me FACTS that say otherwise?

Also, why the hell would they "dump" Jaxson Hayes when Axtion Jaxson was the ONLY serviceable and athletic legit 5 they had to back up AD all season last year? You really think the Lakers feel like Hayes is a scrub like Reddish? Did you even watch the 2nd half of last season when Hayes played even better after Wood got injured and missed the rest of the year?

essential1 essential1

An Important Message for the “DLF’s”

Wake up delusional lakers fans. This team as currently constructed ain’t winning a title for as long as AD continues to play the 5 FULL TIME. It’s been PROVEN AS FACT time and time again yet some of you still believe a 1-Big lineup with AD at the 5 is the ticket to winning a chip. Repeating the same thing expecting different results is the definition of a DLF:rofl:

If Vucevic and Drummond are doing this while on the floor at the same time, Imagine AD and Vucevic or AD and Drummond

Now Imagine a a FULLY HEALTHY CELTICS frontcourt of Porzingis-Horford-Tatum in next year’s Finals. You think 6-10 AD can handle that all by himself?!?

This makes no sense when Lakers fans be like: “LAL needs a backup center,” knowing Hayes and Wood are already on the team as “backup centers” who played solid in their 10-15 mpg backup roles last year.

This makes way more sense: “Lakers need a starting center to play alongside AD just like it was proven to be widely successful in 2020,” HOWEVER 1-Big Laker fans don’t wanna hear it because of their infatuation with AD playing the 5 full time

Who are we fooling? 😂

Team going to end up not playing Knecht at all

If we’re being realistic, how many minutes could they be planning on playing a rookie next season?

Remember, w/ the backcourt you have minutes for Austin, Max at the 2 and at the 3 we’re talking a combination of Rui, Vando, and Lebron (if AD gets time at the 4). Not to mention Klay if he’s a realistic target as well.

I mean once you add Klay obviously none. But realistically 10-15 because that’s what you have to do. You get young guys and you don’t play them throughout a season, doesn’t need to be ridiculous minutes, you then are *** out when the playoffs come.

But to then go after Prince, is rough work.

Knecht is older rookie, played full 4 years in college, 23 years old. Lakers drafted “win-now”.

Max Christie is 21 for reference with 2 years in NBA

If Bron taking a paycut-Klay is happening, then root for:

Paul George to the Sixers (or less favorable, a return to the Clippers)
KCP to a Pistons or Sixers (or less favorable, a return to the Nuggets)
Hartenstein to the Magic

Would hopefully pave the way for a D'Lo-Hayes-first rounder to the Magic for WCJ. Vincent-Reddish-second rounder to the Warriors for Klay (Warriors reportedly willing to help Klay get more money). Give Dinwiddie the TMLE to be the backup PG.

Bigs: AD, WCJ, Wood
Wings: Bron, Klay, Rui, Vando, Knecht, Lewis
Guards: Reaves, Christie, Dinwiddie, JHS, Bronny

One open roster spot and just under the First Apron. Bron could also take a bigger paycut to open up enough room to sign a 15th player before the season ends.
