Yeah, and im not saying anyone is right or wrong for wearing that kind of attire to a class. I just think that if "dressing down" is open to criticism then "dressing up" is open to it as well. Thats the only point I was trying to get across.
Clothes send a message, but that doesnt necessarily mean that nice clothes = nice message all the time.
Point taken. The message also depends on the receiver too though.
It's funny that you say this because when I was getting dressed for work this morning my girl said something along the lines of, "I love watching you get all dressed up nice for work. But usually, when I see people dressed up in a suit and tie I think they are douchey." I asked her why and she said, "I don't know,
I guess it's because I see them walking in the street and not in their office so I just assume they are arrogant."
So I get what you're saying that it doesn't always send a nice message.
