Thinking about getting apple care for the first time with the 8 - average at least a screen crack a year and sometimes other replacements. Think I'm on 2 screens and an insurance replacement for my 7.
Is there a downside I'm missing?

The lack of a physical home button for the X ruined it imo. Went for the 8 plus instead and I'm coming from Note series lol.

I work for a major US provider and this is by far the slowest launch ever. Call centers were fully staffed outside of normal hours and there have literally been people waiting for calls to come in for nearly 2 hours between them. iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is a flop. Everyone wants the X.

Not surprised. Apple should’ve released two sizes of the X and retired the 6/7 design. Instead of adding glass to the back of an outdated form factor, they could’ve put all of the R&D team on the X and X plus

You gotta crawl off from under that rock. Qi been everywhere for years. There are wireless external batteries, wireless charging desk lamps, wireless charging tables, car chargers, etc
That's why that addition is so lackluster. It's as exciting as waterproofing or gorilla glass

This is a great comparison. Honestly it seems like the Samsung Note 8 is almost the same. And the price really isn't that much different. So it seems like its what do you prefer andriod or ios which makes the big difference.
I think ive finally decided to just ride it out with my jailbroken iphone 6. I will probably pick up an 8+ next year at some time

First question I would ask a person who wants to buy a new phone is, "Do you have other Apple products?" If a person has multiple apple products Apple ought to be their first option, no further questions.

I think people are gonna get caught up in the hype of being a part of history by having the 10th anniversary phone instead of actually getting it because its a great phone. That's where the shenanigans are going to come from.

Alot of you won't be getting that X until new years. 1 phone, two colors, and its proving to be a pain in the *$$ to produce. 8 sales will pick up when people get backordered to hell. Apple can't match the demand so they had to push back release to build some sort of stock.
