2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

anybody who thinks the Celtics are coming up in that deal plays too much fantasy hoops

Utah should be arrested and commended at the same time if that deal went through
Arrested yea, commended NO.

I don't know who would be the bigger idiot in that deal, UTAH or Boston.

Bad for both

Rose trade got people ready to jump ship :lol  I can understand the pain though.

I knew the Hawks would eventually trade either Jeff or Dennis and I figured it would be Jeff. I'm okay with moving forward with Dennis there is alot where his game can grow and im interested to see what we do with this picks or if we move them or not.

Schroder needed more minutes anyway. Hawks will be fine with him.

I'm hoping it's heat of the moment type of reaction.
If not :{ @ some of my Bulls fam jumping ship. As it turns out some were just Derrick fans and not true Bulls fan.

I agree Hawks will be fine with Dennis i'm looking forward to him starting and see how far his game grows. I still need to cop a Dennis jersey.

1st Deng got dumped which made no sense. Our concrete veteran who literally pushed and willed the team. 10x more than derrick, jimmy or jo. He led them in and out the locker room. That was the worst. Then thibbs and now Rose. Backwards moves by a lot of dumb bastards. Hope Rose balls out this year.

Rose is obviously very washed, but the trade doesn't make a ton of sense for the Bulls.  I guess they really wanted to cut bait and start over.

Meanwhile the Knicks got a pretty decent deal on him, though it prevents them from getting younger and will probably result in Porzingis never having the ball in his hands.

:rollin

Sorry, man.

:( :lol

BTW what do you want to see Ainge do with #3? Draft Bender, Murray, Dunn, etc? Flip it for...? I'm envious of the C's situation.

I don't really watch enough college ball to have a real strong opinion on those guys, but if they take Dunn/Murray there's a logjam at guard and someone's gotta go. I've never seen a full game of Bender's, I have no idea if I'm on board with that or not. It's kind of interesting that the draft junkies in the media that are usually connected on this type of stuff have no idea what he's gonna do. Maybe he has some wild **** up his sleeve. The Ray Allen trade came out of nowhere, I don't remember any smoke around that before it went down. I just hope he doesn't have Okafor in mind for a centerpiece. They have a strong defensive identity, I don't want that submarined by rebuilding around a poor defensive center.

D rose in ny ?? Weird but I'll rock with it ...n Indy finally got a real pg :hat , got shaky handle hill combo guard *** up outta there finally :lol

I was kind of stunned by the Rose trade. He was a hometown kid who balled out for his city. I thought they'd be loyal, especially after all this time with the injuries and all. I guess Rose really did just need a change and the Bulls FO are retooling around Butler.

@BrettNBA

The Knicks are pursuing a big man, reports ESPN. Joakim Noah and Dwight Howard top the list.

Raymone coming back down from 3-1 and Dwight might join the Knicks. The **** did I do for this man? SMH.

PM me your address, I'm gonna cop you a Dwight NYK jersey.

Superman pin, too.

Ben McLemore and the 8th pick for Jimmy Butler. Do it Bulls.

:lol no way that's happening. Jimmy Butler is about to be the face of the Bulls now. We desperately need to get rid of McLemore though. Dude has just been wasting away for three years. Sick of saying "maybe next season" for that kid. He always shows potential, only for it to disappear for 10 games after. I kind of wanted the Kings to go after Lin and a very seasoned vet. I don't see Rondo resigning with us and we need the experience.

this. deng played his heart out for that city and people always questioned whether or not he was a max player. dude played 40+min for multiple seasons, played through injuries, and never complained.

How does this prevent them from getting younger? Rose and Lopez are the same age. Calderon is in his mid 30s. Grant is about to turn 24 which is a bit old for a 2nd year guy.

Damn, they didn't even tell Rose ahead of time. "We got his voicemail, I haven't talked to him for about three weeks" :x
