2 points i wanna make

1st when my girl reached in dresser and pulled out some condoms, my immediate (immature/insecure ) thought is this B!!! lettin other dudes hit. +think counting condoms from the movie Babyboy+ but in a sense, i cant knock her for being safe.

2nd when a girl i just started knockin off (she was new to the JO thing lol) wanted to buy them non latex condoms cause she thought she was allergic to latex...i told her, go ahead and buy them, but DO NOT OPEN THE BOX, i will, so i could be sure nothin was tampered with. cant be lettin a broad have one of those "keep a _ baby's" lol btw those are the worst....

fellas, i know this was a question about what are our thoughts, but wouldnt it just be our insecurities talkin if we thinkin negative?

Well, at least she does and she can have sex being safe.

 I carry around band-aids in my purse. No, I don't fall and trip all the time, infact barely do. But, in case I do get hurt, I have a band aid to cover my wounds to deter infection.

if a woman cant control her loins enough to wait on a guy to get the condoms, then she cant control the loins at all....

hence, she is dubbed a JO...

if she consistently has sex with a certain guy, then that's TOTALLY different.

if i meet a chick in the club, we head outside, and she drops her purse, and a condom falls out... i'm hype...

So, basically, carrying around condoms means a woman is ready or willing to have sex. Maybe me using the word always was too much. But, you get my point.

I am just trying to point out that he is making too many assumptions and being judgmental on the get go, because he basically said that a girl with condoms already on her on the first go is a +@+! and can't be considered a "good girl".

I do not see it as more inclined to say yes for carrying them. You guys could be right. I just don't look at that at first. More like just that a girl can be carrying them in case it happens and make no judment on how sexual/promiscuous/inclined to sex she is. It could be that despite her carrying them, most of the time she refuses casual/random sex.

To me, it is no different than when a girl who is single that always takes her BC pills also for precautionary reasons. But, condoms protect from STDs when BC pills don't.

I said that not YOU, others in here who proclaim that men should only carry condoms due to their belief in double standards is a dangerous mentality and only spreads sexual diseases and unwanted pregnancies. They are basically saying girls should not carry condoms. Are you kidding me? That is the same dangerous effect it will create such as the Pope claiming to not use condoms.To me, both those claims deter from helping fight sexual diseases and unwanted pregnancies. We should be advocating for safe sex practices and the use of contraception, by men and women. 

I know you were not proclaiming to think that way yourself. You were telling me the generalized concept of why double standards with women and sex exists. You were talking about how people uphold those traditions. I replied to your general concept and explanation. You were explaining to me why they exist, not necessarily that you uphold those beliefs.

I almost thought this was youtube from reading your response. I have no idea how you would equate "uphold[ing] double standards" to "the Pope advocating condoms don't help the same fight against AIDS", cause that's nothing at all what I was talking about, and obviously you are the one being close-minded by pretty much misreading (or not reading at all) what I say. Yes, it's bad that double standards exist, but they're out there plain as day. I'm all for safe-sex and equal roles in life and everything, so your thing about "men should just deal with it" is pretty laughable, and sounds like a recent personal matter you've been through to me. To go even further of what I was saying as traditional or the norm (which you seemed to take as repression or something), it could be something as simple as a guy being the one to normally hold the door open for a woman, the guy normally opening the car door for her, or the guy normally paying for a woman's meal on a date. I wouldn't get mad or feel weird at all if a woman did that for me, but I also wouldn't think a woman would flip out if I did that for her. i could go on, but I'll just leave it right there and see where that's taken.
  

You misunderstood me. I said that not YOU, others in here who proclaim that men should only carry condoms due to their belief in double standards is a dangerous mentality and only spreads sexual diseases and unwanted pregnancies. They are basically saying girls should not carry condoms. Are you kidding me? That is the same dangerous effect it will create such as the Pope claiming to not use condoms.To me, both those claims deter from helping fight sexual diseases and unwanted pregnancies. We should be advocating for safe sex practices and the use of contraception, by men and women. 

I know you were not proclaiming to think that way yourself. You were telling me the generalized concept of why double standards with women and sex exists. You were talking about how people uphold those traditions. I replied to your general concept and explanation. You were explaining to me why they exist, not necessarily that you uphold those beliefs.

Yes, I do think that some double standards are completely outdated, and that is when it comes to sex AND courtship.

  

Well I got ya, but as far as the courtship thing, if that's considered outdated, what exactly goes on? A handshake? I don't know any woman that turns her nose up at the little things like that.

it all depends on the woman in question

i've been to a chicks house and she had an entire shoe box collection of different condoms in all colors, flavors and sizes and of course off that i realized she was a skeez

then i ran into a chick who had a couple in a drawer because she went to some sort of event where they were giving them out and spreading awareness for safe sex

the only chicks that really try to trap dudes are the ones that have been in long term relationships with the dude in question, women don't be trapping random one night stands. and most of those women tamper with the condoms that the DUDE bought which is why men should be careful where they keep their condoms

lots of different situations can occur from this, it's not cut and dry, this thread is filled with assumptions and lack of experience
