I want to install a 3rd party launcher but am paranoid. I installed Nova launcher on my GS3 (AT&T) and after a while my battery started draining like crazy. It got to the point where the phone would rarely charge past 49% and when it would charge to 100, after leaving it on the charger for 5-6 hours, it would drop to 50% within a matter of minutes. I was only getting about 2-3 hours idle (no wifi, synch, location, navigation and minimal screen lighting with battery savings on). I took the phone to one of AT&T's service centers where the rep told me he see's this all the time with 3rd party launchers. So he did a factory reset on my phone, but the issue did not go away so I had them send me a new battery thinking that may be the problem. Installed the new battery, same issue. I now have a new GS3 and have barely added any new widgets due to my paranoia.

Any advice?
Should I root before installing a new launcher?
Anyone have this issue before with different launchers?

There's no way Nova is doing that.

There's no way Nova is doing that.

This don't eem sound right.. a launcher itself isn't just gonna randomly start raping your battery. The issue is somewhere else.. screenshot your battery usage.

Ive had my GS4 for about a month and i must say im happy i switched since having iphones since 2007.

Rearth Ringke fusion should be coming in today, been rocking a cheapo tpu case off amazon and it just feels....idk cheap and doesnt handle so great to me.

Going to google using these 3rd party launchers. As someone whose been jailbreaking and tweaking iphones since its been available, these damn launchers got me stumped. lol. and i know its probably so simple i just cant figure out how to get them situated right.

Is anyone having issues downloading files from chrome? My downloads are not showing in the notification bar. I have no idea the download is complete until the popup says it is.

anyone know how to change the function of the hardware home button on the GS4? i want it so that if i double click it takes me to the app switcher and long press goes to google now.

i'm using cm10.1 btw

online people are saying to use an app called home2 but from what i understand it's a launcher and i don't want to put it over trebuchet. i'm hoping i'm missing an option for it in cm10.1

The new Nexus 7 leaks are shifting from a light drizzle to a full downpour. The folks at Engadget  got their hands on a photo of a product info tag, confirming much of what we already know. The following specifications all seems to agree with our previous exclusive leak:

• 1.5 GHz quad-core processor
• 7" screen size
• 1.2MP front-facing and 5MP rear-facing cameras
• Android 4.3 operating system

The new information comes from the 'Key Features' side of the info tag, which lists:

• Slim port supports 1080p output for playing HD content
• Charges wirelessly

It is also being reported that the new Nexus 7 will go on sale at Staples on July 31st, with units arriving in-store as early as July 24th. That date sounds familiar, doesn't it?

you have to use a launcher bruh. Get Nova or Apex and you can transfer your Trebuchet setup to it with no problem, then customize your push button settings.
