what phone u got?

Note2

400

Im at work and have my phone face up, that little green light doesnt always catch my attention.
i'd like the screen to flash on when i get a message, so...

1. i dont miss it.
2. i dont have to unlock it
3. just jump right back into it

i know its not much, but i find it useful.  Does handcent sms allow this?
Handcent has popup notifications where the message pops up on your screen whether if the screen is off or on

if you're using stock sms, download SMS Popup

Verizon leak shows VZ Edge upgrade program: trade your phone in once you've paid off half of it Mobile
By Michael Gorman posted Jul 15th 2013 6:26PM 22

T-Mobile's been grabbing a lot of headlines lately with its consumer-friendly handset deals and upgrade programs, but it appears that Big Red has similar ideas. The folks at Droid Life have acquired a Verizon document detailing a new VZ Edge program that'll allow folks to trade in their phones once they've paid off 50 percent of the purchase price. To join the program, Verizon will merely require a monthly fee of unknown amount, and in return, folks can get their upgrades early fee free and sans contract. When will customers get the option to do so? According to the doc, launch is scheduled for Q3, August 25th, to be exact. So, if Verizon can stick to its schedule, its customers are just under six weeks away from being free from the tyranny of the new every two upgrade cycle.

The good about this is you can I assume pay a 2yr contract like downpayment for a device then when you are ready for a new joint sell your old device in the streets and pay off the 50% balance. Still wont be as cheap as Tmobile but for those that VZW is the best network in your city, this is somewhat a sign of hope.

Will def have to wait for this. Getting a new phone at an upgrade price once a year sounds fantastic

Gonna flash illusion once again but actually try it all day at work tomorrow and use it like I normally would.. Will post results throughout day tomorrow

I sure it will cost the person ALOT more in the end.

Of course.. the companies aren't gonna do it unless there is money involved :lol they will always be on the winning end. But for someone who upgrades their phone often it's worth it imo.

Illusion is flashed now we test.. Dunno what font it's dope as fuu..to nyc and tets are yall using kernel that came with or flashed a different one?

I flashed plasma kernel for voodoo sound. Didn't make any adjustments though.

I had a Droid X 2 before and I could easily type certain symbols.

I could hold down the number 2 and get the exponent ^2 (squared) or the fraction 1/2.

I could hold down the number 3 and get the exponent ^3 (cubed).

I could hold down another button (maybe the little degrees symbol circle?) that gave me access to arrows pointing up, down, left and right. Not the hands, just an arrow.

Now I have the Galaxy S4 and can't figure out how to use these symbols. Anyone know?

AT&T needs to hop on that bandwagon

Already done...

AT&T is following T-Mobile's lead and introducing a new upgrade eligibility program for its customers called 'AT&T Next'. With Next, AT&T customers can purchase a new smartphone or tablet every twelve months with no activation, upgrade or financing fees.

Customers purchase a smartphone or tablet with no money down, making monthly payments equal to 1/20th of the retail cost of the device. After 12 payments, they can trade the device in and upgrade to a new one with no other fees. Or, after 20 payments, they own the device outright.
“With AT&T Next, customers can get the newest smartphone or tablet every year with no down payment. That’s hard to beat, and it’s an incredible value for customers who want the latest and greatest every year,” said Ralph de la Vega, president and chief executive officer of AT&T Mobility.
For customers purchasing a 16GB iPhone 5, they would pay $32.50 per month for 12 months, and could then upgrade to the latest iPhone -- trading in the previous device. They would pay $390 over that time, with the phone being bought back for the equivalent of $260. If the customer makes the 20 monthly payments, they can upgrade to a new phone and keep the old one.

Because there is no activation or upgrade fee, customers save $36 on activating a new line. Depending on the customer's needs, this may be a better option than the old AT&T upgrade system, which requires customers wait 24 months between fully subsidized upgrades.

AT&T customers who still have grandfathered unlimited data plans are fully eligible to participate in this program.

T-Mobile recently announced a similar upgrade plan, and a leak from Verizon today suggested they also had something like it in development.

Thanks T-Mobile for sparking the industry...Sure we still gonna be paying out the *** but at least we have different options of how to be screwed. I mean getting new cellphones every year is a bad investment and a fiscally poor decision anyway, but who cares when you love technology

Any good ROMs for the Galaxy Nexus? Currently running CM10 and I'm bored. Need something new to hold me over until the HTC One drops
