I really want to see Steph on a mediocre team in his prime so bad. That Warriors team was great before injuries made them flounder into the end of the 2019 playoffs/Finals and into this current (current?) season. So we didn't get to see him in his prime on a struggle squad.

I want to see that so bad, for context.

What I'd really love to see is him on a franchise not as solid as the Warriors, but not trash. Portland. Jazz. Memphis.

I mentioned something similar to this back when the NBA was actually playing games, and I remember someone said something like 'Are you saying he's a system player? He IS the system.' OK, I wanna see Chef The System Curry make a mid tier franchise elite then if that's the argument.

We were robbed of that this season with his injury. It definitely wasn't off to a good start, they were getting skull drug w/o Klay and KD.

Where were you when he was 24....leading a team to 49 wins in the west, a 2nd round appearance by leading a 3-6 upset over my 57 win nuggets (with Iggy on the roster)...while he was playing with Carl Landry, Old Jermaine O’Neal, Rookie Harrison Barnes, 2nd Year Klay, Rookie Draymond, and Jarret Jack was his crunch time back court mate?

This Warriors team....was the only team other than the Heatles to beat that 2013 Spurs team. It alsmost went to 7...if not for a Manu game winner.

Y’all don’t remember this?

I mean, his career didn't start in 2015  he was on teams that rivaled the teams you mentioned. 2012-2013, 2013-2014. Pushing the Spurs to 6, Clippers to 7, beating a good nuggets team

Folks act like the Warriors were always an elite franchise LOL.

Steph was on the WARRIORS. The lowly WARRIORS. A team NIKETALK NEVER cared about in the sports threads during the early 2000s. Then WE Believe happened, some acknowledgement, then back to irrelevance.

In 2009-11, the Warriors were bottom feeders, trash then once Monta got traded, Steph got healthy, picked up Klay and Dray, they ascended.

Those Mark Jackson teams weren't loaded. Before they even were physically washed much of the roster were removed from the league.

Watch the 2012-2013 highlights and playoffs. There were no all stars besides DLee, who couldn't guard anybody. Dray was a rookie and Klay was still young. He carried them in the first round passed a Denver team who was favored to win. Then, while injured, pushed the Spurs to six, when it should have went 7 gamnes because he was incredible in game 1.

The evidence you are looking for exists.

I respect it but...

I can't put KD over Steph because the last faced each either, on "one leg," Steph beat KD in a epic WCF.

Also, the Warriors were the WARRIORS when Steph was running the show. KD with that same "overwhelming" arsenal without Steph were just above average.

KD just looks the part due to height but Wardell has been better than the man for quite some time.
Offensively KD is better. Defensively KD is much better. He just didn't fit into the Warriors as well as Steph does. For the same team, he's worse, outside of that though he's definitely the better player. Even when considering the losses which were more on Russ than KD.

Before his prime Steph was on a struggle squad. This bum team called the warriors. Then they traded Monta, gave him the keys and won 50 games the next season.

Yeah I disagree. I would say on a micro-level, playing one on one basketball, getting his shot off, physically he definitely is. But macro, nah. Nobody impacts the game like Wardell. Teams have to play an entirely different way when playing the Warriors in their prime prime, now the league mimics that style. I value that more than the ability to better play one on one.

Just watched the finals of the Spanish league playoffs, the underdog won on their last possession...Was weird watching it cuz it didnt have all the excitement with no fans and a big production but the players were still hyped up tho ...Its gon be a quiet *** celebration down in Orlando :lol

Thanos taught us the importance of balance in the world. So it's only right that in this thread we have a balance for Savanah and Bryce in Ayesha and Riley. Two sides of the same coin.

The arguments about FMVPs are pretty much meaningless as it seems Steph’s fanbase in this thread has him in the 10-20 range which most, if not all, would agree is reasonable.

LeBron on the other hand is thought of as 1 or 2 by a few of folks that ride for him in this thread which is a stance that is a lot harder to defend.

Dollars and cents, B.

I see a SOLID team here, which doesn't refute what I was saying in my previous reply. You could see GSW's style in that package, Bogut's hustle and execution, and yes, Curry doing his thing. My contention is that Curry is a great player in a well-oiled system on a GREAT franchise. That highlight package doesn't refute that.

It was a fun watch, though, for sure. I remember watching those Warriors and being highly entertained, just like now. I love good basketball.

Stephen A was saying NBA players will get too horny 3 weeks into the bubble and that will be the reason why protocol will be broken

In what world is Steph a top 10 player? And in what world is he closer to being top 10 than Bron is to being 2?

They both like to eliminate the finer details which matter when you're evaluating the elite of the elite. There are definitely some of his vehement fans on here that have tried to elevate him to status he hasn't earned yet (ie what Wavy alluded to earlier). This GOATPG bulljive, it was 'his era' etc. Just let him get more meat on his bones before you put him there. He still has time to add to his resume, but he ain't there or really close to bring top 10 in my opinion. They did the same thing with Bron (although he does have a much stronger argument given his body of work).

Andrew bogut player 32 games that year...and split playoff time with Carl Landry. Again, that team was successful...with Steph curry being the best player on a “solid” or “mediocre” team. The warriors being a “GREAT” franchise...has a lot to do with Steph Curry. You acting like it’s the Lakers or something lol. It’s the damn Warriors. The same franchise that was booing Lacob, hadn’t won in forever and was roundly ridiculed for decades.

What you said in you’re previous post, that you wanted to see Steph Curry do...he’s done that before. He didn’t just start playing winning basketball in 2015. The players and system around him just weren’t all realized. Nobody wins alone.

We literally saw this guy and his team...build step by step before our eyes. Yet, you and many others have this notion...that you need to see him prove he can “carry a less talented team”.

The guy was the #1 option on a 67 and 73 win team. And been to 5 straight finals in the west.

What more do we need to really see here :lol. This is ridiculous.
