The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Agreed nawghtyhare nawghtyhare you got games turning into damn chores for those things... :smh: :smh: :smh:
I'm happy Nintendo doesn't do that.

It already feels like a chore unlocking all of the characters and costumes for some games let alone solo-leveling up. Not gonna find me trying to complete every feat to get a digital trophy.

Only have a few platinums but I do agree it is a chore (except Bloodborne).

I have the For Honor plat which is pretty ridiculous :lol

really want to get it for GOW and Horizon though.

Mannnn Tony Hawk and WWF No Mercy were the main games I played on N64. Still remember that blue Pro Skater cartridge :smokin

Day 1 for me :D

Actually bought this last month for nostalgia and I was disappointed. First thing I tried was the 900  and failed

You guys know you can disable trophy notifications, right? I didn’t realize some of ya’ll were so bothered by them. I just figured I’d let ya’ll know.

Hey if I can cop and return at GameStop why not lol. Plats are plats

Damn, Sony ****** themselves on backwards compatibility with the ps3

Exactly what do you get from all the plats though? Money or is it just bragging rights?

I know there's like some overall online ranking but what's the point if you not top 50?

Never been a plat guy either. Would rather move onto another game but if you love a game a lot I get it.
Don’t understand playing a game just for the sake of getting it though but to each their own.

I'm not personally into platinum trophies either, but some people want to master certain things they're into. A plat signifies that for them. I can never knock a person for putting they're all into something they're passionate about, especially if they spent money on it.

Yo put that **** in a spoiler b, clown *** turd.

Like I know the game came out a while ago but ****.

That's not a lite spoiler. That's THE ******* spoiler. :smh:

I'm convinced that RDR2 on PC actually looks better than real life, I don't even care if I need to stay inside forever.

I just finished chapter 3 on my first ever play through and it's the best representation of the natural world that I've ever seen in ANY medium.

Like the game is fun, but dudes deserve university credits in natural sciences just for playing and experiencing it.

Feel like I'm halfway to a degree in North American biomes and ecology just from riding around West Elizabeth, New Hanover and Lemoyne.

Damn, Sony ****ed themselves on backwards compatibility with the ps3

Not much, just fun for me, can’t speak for others

Plats are there for the extra challenge, to entice you to continuing playing offline or online and to explore the game further
It's not supposed to be boring and repetitive but unfortunately that's how lots of games are so in those cases it's best to wrap it up if it's becoming a chore.
Games like that have poor Trophy design.

When designed properly, it's actually enjoyable and you can look back on your list and reminisce on the good times you had.
It's also a good way of seeing your game collection at a glance and the timestamps of when you started and completed them.

Buying trash games just for the plat though. Yea, something is not right in that case :lol

I remember people praising stamps in Nintendoland and saying they wouldn't mind a system wide implementation.
I also remember the Activity log on the 3DS and that was loved too for tracking your games and the time you spent on them. People were angry that didn't come back.

More options is never a bad thing

Think of the moons in Mario Odyssey and the Korok seeds/shrines in BOTW. These are all extras that will take you hours and hours.
To some, it's a chore, to others its a challenge or they don't want the game to end so they carry on playing.

A trophy or achievement or stamp will just be a system wide way of showing you or others that you've done it without having to launch the game.
No harm in that.
