The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Bc with PS4 and vr no word on Ps3/2 big meh

The speed is cool tho fast traveling in spidey in under a second, and ssd drive

Man now my next tv gonna have to be 8k :smh:

After i told myself 4k was enough.

If they try to push anything beyond 8k in the industry in the future im seriously gonna sit it out. I saw a tv on display and was like damn thats a clean picture come to find out it was a 8k tv. I highly doubt you can tell the difference beyond 8k now

Now to research what 8k tv i should get

I definitely want backwards compatibility... PS5 will be a day one buy for me
BC is just a bonus for me. I’m day one regardless. As long as Sony keeps pumping out those exclusives. I’m hoping they improve the UI and things like online experience. Lately it’s taking me forever to load the PS store or to even shift thru the UI. It almost feels like I’m there’s lag on the UI. PS4Pro struggling :lol

I just hope I can put in my copy of FF9 in and play my yearly run of it without having to use my ps3. :lol

Gamestop got a new program if you buy a game on release day and you don’t like it return it in 48 hours and receive 59.99 back in trade credit. The first game they doing it with is days gone.

It's that time again and I'm getting excited. I swear I remember the announcement in 2013 as if it was yesterday.
Cerny is back at it again and I have to say, it's looking good.

SSD specifically for the console that is 19 times faster in load times :wow: :wow: :wow:

Latest Zen 2 and Navi architecture with Ray Tracing :wow: :wow:
No more CPU Bottlenecks like this gen and boy if they can get Ray Tracing to work with good framerates :wow:

Also interesting to see the uses of Ray Tracing for non visual components. That with the audio chip and next gen of VR is going to be crazy.

If IT can run everything @ a stable 60 fps I'm copping day one.
This would never happen. Even for old games I won't expect it to happen for all of them.

BC with PS4 games means day one for me.

While I would love PS2/PS3 announcement, I have a sneaking suspicion PS+ will acquire PSNow and open up that library.

You never know, It just might happen.

PS3 games on PS Now are essentially modified PS3's in racks in a data center somewhere.
If PS5 is backwards compatible with PS1 to PS4 then they only need one piece of hardware instead of having different types in the data centers.

I think this is why we've seen a few backwards compatibility patents popping up recently.

Realistically though like you said, I expect there to be a sub that combines PS+ and PS Now to stream or download and rent games from PS1 to 5 and pay for multiplayer plus the free games.

BC with digital games you already own though? If so that's dope.
Yea it will be both digital and physical

So how much are you guys willing to pay for PS5? I’m hoping it’s $399 again but I’m mentally prepared for a $499 tag.
