Man. Digital trade ins would be lit

Backlog would be out and I ain’t looking back
I don’t see how this benefits Sony at all. It would be lit but even if it was true I could only see them giving you like $1-$3 per game.

Considering there are still a ton of ppl that accept the $1-$3 scraps that Gamestop/Best Buy gives them for trade-ins of yearly sports titles (FIFAs, MADDENs, NBA 2Ks), I see a lot of ppl jump on-board with this if Sony goes thru with this idea for the PS5 or later this year with the remaining life cycle of the PS4.

Don't underestimate the casual consumer market for games.....especially when that casual market is composed of sports gamers and your Call of Duty type gamers.

Correction: this appears to be for Amiibo type objects that can be scanned and sold/traded digitally, not for games. I sincerely apologize for the confusion. This is still interesting however, because Sony doesn’t have Amiibo like accessories. Maybe this is hinting towards something special in the future.

Not happening unfortunately
I don't know how Sony would be able to profit off digital trade ins anyway. There's no disc to resell at an upcharge.

Oh I feel you. It’d be great for consumers but Sony doesn’t benefit from this at all. I’d think they’d just lose money. I could see them maybe letting you sell the license to a friend and then taking a percentage of it but even then you could still manipulate it. Either way, next gen is almost here and things should get interesting going forward.

You are more likely to make purchases you wouldn't otherwise, if you have funds in your psn account.
Changing your spending habits is more valuable to them then the 2 or 3 bucks they will give you per game.

Where are you guys in Sekiro?

Just started it today and already love the damn thing.

I don't see Gamestop leaving anytime soon. Not while they give 0.50 for used games then resell it for $5.

But they are literally 2-3 years away from going out of business..........them cats were almost about to be sold to somebody else earlier this year due to declining financial performance numbers.

Man I never understood the hate GameStop gets. I always have good experiences there. People complain about the trade in values but nobody really giving you that much imo. Games drop so fast in price now that it doesn’t make sense to give somebody $30 for game. I actually think Best Buy is the worst for trade ins now that GCU is dead.

For real man. It’s just a video game store.

And like you said people getting upset cause they not getting the money back for a game they played or didn’t play but opened.

Last night I beat the
folding screen monkeys and got the mortal blade. Easiest boss battle if it even counts as one. I guess it counts cause afterwards I got a memory.

Feeling confident with my skills. Played for a couple hours yesterday, only died one real time while killing two minibosses and one "real" boss.

Just passed the giant Snake and reached what I think is the first true boss (Dude on horseback)...promptly got owned. Determined I’m not ready for that and went back to progress more through the memory segment (Hirata Estate)

Game is great.
