The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

its not the trade in for me its the constant pushing of products i dont want. I dont want your club card, no i dont need a new controller, no i wanted a new game not a used one no i dont need insurance.
I understand that but if that’s the case for you, why even shop there? I like them for their t-shirts and collectibles, those deals be clutch.

One thing I don't like but I understand about Gamestop is that they think about average consumer than the gamer. Whenever I buy used games and ask if they have the original case with the manual, and if they don't I pass. Whenever I do that, they look at me like I'm stupid or something.
When I was looking for Bloodborne, I asked the guy if they had it. He said that they have a used copy but the one about 2 miles away has a new copy. I said I'll go there then. He then looked at me like I had 2 heads and said, "Why? It's right here." I said well, I rather buy new over used I'm sure you understand. He said "no, I don't but ok." I just walked out and never went back there since.

I never really understood the hate for GameStop. Nobody forces people to trade their games into them. People just need to step out of their comfort zone a little to use eBay. I’ve gotten plenty of good deals from them, and have had the elite membership make its money back. Also 70% extra on trade ins has given me good deals before for selling. And giving 7 days to return a used game for a full refund was clutch back in the day.

I’ve worked retail before. The regular employee wants to offer you the extra bs as much as you want it pitched. There’s much more agitating ish out there then someone asking if you want to protect your disc for $1.50

I’ve talked ish with some chill employees there too. And this has been across multiple locations.

You guys talking **** about their trade-in value need to remember they're a business, too.

That’s another thing I like about GS. I usually meet some cool employees and just chop it up about gaming in general. One manager found out I was in the Army and automatically renewed my Pro membership without even telling me.

Just passed the giant Snake and reached what I think is the first true boss (Dude on horseback)...promptly got owned. Determined I’m not ready for that and went back to progress more through the memory segment (Hirata Estate)

Game is great.
About halfway through the Hirata Estate, things get increasingly difficult. Not entirely necessary but I would suggest beating that first boss you encountered, increase your strength, then return to the Hirata Estate to wrap that segment up.

Rumored PS5 devkit DS5 controller:

This controller has a screen? about to cost $120 per controller

I only shop at GS because my friend is a manager at a store and go through him when they have limited releases on toys.

i love gamestop but hated it as a kid for obvious reasons, all you gotta say is no. but shout out to cag got on there years ago and been taking advantage since... every month there is an unadvertised "stealth bump" its in the middle of the month for the weekend only, they offer high trade in value for most wanted games. i traded in wii sports and wii sports resort for $21 each just 2 weeks ago...wii sports i said lol. no other store offers what gamestop can offer for me and thats gaming without really spending too much of my real money.

also believe they gonna bounce back in terms of business

First Reggie now Kaz.

End of an Era. I miss the gifs 2013 before the PS4 released. Good times.

wtf

i am not sure what game you're playing then :lol

multiple long loading screens, crashes, disconnects, infinite expedition complete screen, bugs on health bar and gears, weapon/gear inscriptions not working, loot issues, components for different javelins, broken missions and contracts, chat boxes bugs, very low content, very little armor customization, elysian chest lies, not getting elysian chest, no pinging, no map directions, no min-map, bugged world events, lack of content, etc... i can probably keep going

so to say that you have no issues at all is very, very hard to believe

i havent had no issues honest. I dont burn thru games like most i just made it to max level yesterday. People burn thru games and be like its nothing to play game trash. People hate to hate. Is it perfect? No. But its not like people are making it out to be.

its a looter shooter so there were expectations... and for the genre, the real game doesn't usually start until the endgame but this game has very little to do and the little things you do are bugged

i've played from the beginning and most of the anger are warranted, i've never seen a AAA game look worse than a kickstarter game

reddit is definitely a toxic place if you frequent it but a lot of the complaints ive experienced unfortunately

i hear you and agree somewhat but im old school grinding something over and over again is kool with me. lol

I gotcha, i have hundreds of hours in Monster Hunter and that was all grinding too but there was just more variety and felt much more rewarding.

I'd be curious how you felt about the game in month or two though once you get more into the endgame.

They have done a lot of good updates and fixed especially to qol but in some way it feels like they take one step forward and 20 back.
