It's wild that my hours are like that cause I didn't have a PS4 for majority of the year. Being unemployed was trash.
Finally got KH3 tho

Yeah it's strange but hopefully we get full backwards compatibility with the PS5I always wondered why GTA4 and the Episodes of Liberty City weren’t re-released/available for PS4. Pretty much all the other GTA games are in the PS4 store.
Apparently there’s been a patent filed from Sony that will allow backwards compatibility from PS1-PS4 on PS5. It doesn’t specify whether it’ll be digital, disk or both.
My guess is digital for PS1-PS3, probably have to re-purchase some of the games and full BC for PS4.

Worldwide total shipments for PlayStation 4 have reached 94.2 million, Sony announced in its financial results for the three months ended December 31, 2018.
A total of 8.1 million PlayStation 4s were shipped during the third quarter, which is down 0.9 million from the same period the previous fiscal year.
Sony’s previous forecast of 17.5 million PlayStation 4s shipped in fiscal year 2018, which runs from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019, remains unchanged.
Here are a couple of additional statistics:
- PlayStation Plus subscribers topped 36.3 million as of December 31, 2018, which is up 2.1 million from the previous fiscal year.
- PlayStation 4 software sold 87.2 million units in the third quarter, which is up 0.7 million from the previous fiscal year. 37 percent of those sales were full game software digital downloads, compared to 28 percent the previous year.
- PS4 is the best selling Console of 2018, worldwide.
- PS4 is the number 1 selling console worldwide, 5 years in a row.
- PS4 is one year away from tying with PS2's record of the longest consecutive best sold console. PS2 has 6 years in row.
- PS4 is on track to be the 2nd best selling console when it crosses 103 million. This will make all top 3 selling consoles a PlayStation.
PS4 and PS5 will both have x86 architecture so expect PS5 to be backwards compatible with PS4 right off the bat.
PS3 and older will be up in the air, especially the PS3?
I think PS5 will have a boost mode similar to the PS4 Pro that will help older PS4 titles run better so the amount of remasters should decrease.
Big games coming out nearer the end of the gen like TLOU 2 and Death Stranding will probably get a PS5 version with all the upgrades possible.

PS3 was PowerPC architecture so you need an emulator to run that content but it's very doable as is the case with Xbox One X backward compatibility (x86) with Xbox 360 (Power PC).
Main thing with the older content is licensing. I highly doubt we'll see a reduction in remasters - in fact the remastering will be far, far worse as there's revenue in getting consumers to repurchase the content. Expect 'enhanced' versions of PS4 remasters and PS4 original content (GoW, Spiderman, HZD, etc...) to get the full on remaster treatment.
You'll best believe Rockstar got GTA V ready to go for PS5 launch.![]()

This will make all top 3 selling consoles a PlayStation.

SAME.Backwards compatibility sounds promising but i won't hold my breath. Feel like it will cut into all this "mini retro" console hype if they do it.
I just want to play the tony hawk games![]()
People always expect this. QuadHD/4K at 60 fps with possible ray-tracing-like tech will be a game changer.PS5 is the first Playstation system I actually want backwards compatibility for because I don't think the difference in how the PS5 games and PS4 games look won't be that huge.... The jump from PS1 to PS2 to PS3 were all huge from a graphical standpoint
I think console will avoid maxed settings across the board in order to achieve a higher resolution and higher frame-rates.I'm still waiting for games to run at 1080 with maxed settings at 60fps
I know the Wii sold 100M+

People are going to lose their jobs behind Anthem. It's awful.
