The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I saw someone on my Xbox friends list playing DQ XI the other night. Can’t find anything about it coming out for the One but I know he does some game developing so I wonder what’s up with that. Messaged him about it but no response, granted we haven’t talked in awhile.

I mean, if you don’t like the game, why play it?

Doesn’t make much sense to me.
I liked RDR. I never said I didn’t like it. I just said RDR2 won’t be revolutionary for me. Sure it could always catch me off guard and be the best game ever but based off of what I’ve seen and what I know about myself, it’ll just be a good game that I’ll enjoy for a while and move onto whatever’s next.

It’s available on PC. I have a friend who’s on my Xbox friends list who’s always playing Final Fantasy’s XIV.

It seems these AAA game developers are ready for next gen. PS5/Xbox whatever consoles too....................look at the PS4 file size for RDR2

These game devs/publishers don't give a **** about optimizing for consoles anymore...........you either need a 1TB/2TB HDD to have this game alongside more games in your console's back log OR hell nah.

You know damn well the PS5 will prolly have 1.5TB HDDs at the start of launch now after seeing how these AAA game devs. are with the file sizes of these games

Hope they make SSD's worth it next gen.

We're still waiting for 1TB SSDs to drop below $100 for PC builds...............god I hope so, my man

I meant speed wise for consoles. Loading times are barely faster over the stock drive, and even that is only a 5400 IIRC. If they made a difference I would bite the bullet. I've already done it twice for PC :lol

I ain’t messing with a streaming only console. I keep a disc or two just in case the internet starts trippin’

i find it crazy yall dont just buy the game in person. you rather spend the money to get and install a new harddrive instead of just using a disc? eghhhhhh cant relate

whether you're physical or digital it takes the same hard drive space

Watch Sony still trot out some PS5s with the 500GB HDDs.:smh:

There won’t be no ssd

This gen started off at 500gb, next gen will 1tb start off lol...but remember Xbox released that elite Xbox one with a ssd hybrid but they didn’t use it in the x I don’t think which is dumb.

I'm torn between the "500 Million" controller and the Gun-Metal controller lol

Of course not stock. I was referring to replacing the stock drive

kdslittlebro kdslittlebro Are you sure about the load times being 'barely faster'? Looking at some benchmarks - you can see games with 10 second loading times cut to 6-7 seconds however games with about 60 second loading times are cut down to 30-40 seconds. There are in-game benefits too, but the benchmarks focus on the loading times as they're easier to capture.

500GB SSD are in the $110-$120 (Canadian) price range so you US cats are most definitely getting better deals. If you're a casual gamer with a smaller game library of mainly physical media there is value in upgrading to the SSD - especially if you can grab the console hardware on discount too.

Or the game could just be that big. Not sure what you think next gen is gonna do to fix that. They’ll be even bigger.
