The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 US Open)

Woz just can't catch a break against Vika... That's her fourth loss to Azarenka this year.

Shocking stuff by Nole... and shocking stuff by the Goffinator...

Denied yet again of Federer vs. Nadal XXXIV... One of them always loses when it's one round away from happening.

Can't wait for Stan vs. Novak. Nole actually said he preferred playing Stan over Karlovic, lol. Let's see if that comes back to bite him... Looking forward to rematch from last year's Cincy final between Serena vs. Ana as well. Unfortunately for Ana, Rena seemed back to normal against Knapp.

I just need Serena to continue to get matches and get out of the funk she's in. I don't care if she wins or loses this tournament.

The bulk of Nadal's wins vs Fed are on clay. It's usually Nadal who loses the round before the eventual showdown historically. Federer always made it to those clay court finals to eventually lose though. I'd be shocked if either of them won another slam unless something crazy happens.

Great match between Nole and Dolgopolov going on right now. Dolg's rank is not the slightest bit indicative of his skill. Nice to see he's jumping back up into the Top 40 regardless of what happens.

Dolgo was ridic in the 1st... blasting winners left and right.  3rd was horrible though.

I don't think we could've asked for a better pair of finals. Halep has secured the #2 seed at the US Open Serena Williams Open with her win against JJ.

Fed vs. Djoko is going to be pretty important for both players...

If Federer wins:

• Moves back to #2 in the rankings

• Clinches #2 seed in New York (no Djokovic until the final)

If Djokovic wins:

• Gets Cincinnati title for the first time

• Becomes the first man ever to complete the Career Golden Masters

• Overtakes Roger in the H2H (currently 20-20)

Serena's double fault problems are not ideal. Hopefully she can cut down on those before the open.

Just like most of Wimbledon, if Fed is up one break, it's gonna be tough to comeback. Congrats to the GOAT!

Both 30-somethings get it done. Federer was in top form and Serena's serve was better today (only 2 double faults).

Serena has a lot of work to keep her emotions in check but I'm glad she won.

The ATP is a joke with that conditional ban stuff with Scumbag Nickolas.
