The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 US Open)

Here for my homegirl, QueenWen!
Def more invested in the WTA Finals than the ATP's... 😅

That tiebreak was a big letdown, but that was a great quality match to end the season. Super impressed with Coco's run taking out both IIga and Sabs in straight sets.

Her serve is still shaky, but the coaching change has really improved her game, imo.

A great match, but the business end of that 3rd was a let down. Zheng just spraying too many errors. It was a tough battle tho and there were so many factors... nerves, fatigue, etc. Coco was just so solid... basically waited for Zheng to miss. But she had it... on her racquet. With such a huge serve, you'd expect her to serve it out... oh, well. Still a fantastic season for both girls.

Not even surprised anymore, Carlos’ level goes down at this time of the year.

Yeah, I just saw the news. I... really don't know what to say. 😅

I always felt like Andy's first coaching job would be with a WTA player, though.

Yep, this. He watches a lot of WTA tennis and legitimately knew a lot of players and their game. Made total sense!

Having said that, I'm genuinely intrigued by how this will all unfold!

That explains why she didn't play much leading up to the WTA Finals.

Crazy how this happened to both world number one's (at the time) during the same year...

Skimmed thru the report and it mentioned that both her opened and unopened melatonin samples were tested and they discovered that it was contaminated.... so I guess that was why the punishment was so lenient. 🤔
