The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 US Open)

The back-to-back double faults when up 40-15 at 5-4 down in that fourth set just completely ended the match. Did not expect such an implosion by big Foe.

Disappointing finish to that match, but at least the third and fourth sets gave us some decent tennis. First two sets were boring imo.

Great final, great battle.
Jess had her chances, but Saba was just too tough. What a bulldozer on the court. Just overpowers you.

Flava Flav getting a hug in there as well. 😅

I was rooting for JPeg, but I'm happy for Sabalenka after what she went through this year with the death of her boyfriend. Well deserved for her since been the best player on tour at the slams over the past couple of years.

No new Grand Slam champs on the WTA this year for the first time since 2014.

Mid-final postings... I had only 1 UFE in that 2nd set!
1 set away from my 2nd Grand Slam title!

Yooo. Kudermetova was up 5-0 in the 3rd set and lost every game after to lose 5-7. I’d recommend an investigation

No official word from Osaka yet, but the rumor is that Patrick Mouratoglou is going to be her new coach...

Wim suddenly dropping Zheng last year to rejoin Osaka... only for them to part a year later. 🙄

The media outlet that first reported Osaka and Wim rumor also reported the Mouratoglou one, so I guess it's pretty reliable?

I don't know if firing BG is the answer. Coco has a top 20 player problem, a terrible forearm, and a shaky serve. Good luck to her.
