The OFFICIAL Powerball and Megamillions thread:

Jackpot has rolled over again to $284,000,000.

What's the closest y'all ever got? A few jackpots ago I got the powerball and two numbers right. The last three white balls I was in the ballpark, like I was just 1-3 numbers off on each one.

Damn near went into cardiac arrest.

It def hurts a lot more when you're that close. It's whatever when you're way off but when you're just a couple digits off like that man....

Feelsbatman....

I think i matched the 1st 3 numbers like twice. I've gotten the power/ mega ball number countless of times.

284,000,000

162,700,000 cash value.

35% tax brack....

~110,000,000 after tax? #TooLazyToDoTheMath

Watching these I won the lotto shows on TLC, I'm still yet to see one non white person, and a strangely large number of them were rednecks. Just an odd observation.

I stopped watching the show out of pure jellyness flowing through my blood

I began to fill one out Saturday, then once I saw how many numbers there were I was like ehhhh, nvm. Picking 5 numbers correctly out of like 55 lol.

the closest i won was hit 3 #'s and the megaball #.. the other 2 numbers that were missing was on the line above :{

I never understood how people say when they win mega millions, "they still gonna work...."

If you make $75000 and you save all the bread after taxes, after 20 years you'd have a million... so assuming you start your career at 30 y/o, you'd make 1.5mil by the time you retire.... if if if you don't spend any money except for what you pay in taxes...

Imagine 170 million after taxes....

And cats still talking that work ishhh...

Smh

I don't play unless the prize is big. I gotta hit one day man. IDC first thing I'll do is disappear to a resort by myself and plan out how Ima spend this bread

Only people who say that are the ones who have never traveled.

I think its relative to how much you win. If I only win a mil or 2 I'll buy a decent home for myself and invest the rest. Probably work till im about 45 and enjoy an early retirement with the money I've invested.

Obviously, nobody is going to continue to work with a 170mil cash prize after taxes. They may work in their own businesses but they def wont need to answer to someone else.
