The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Remember when y'all said they were wildin when they made Aldo the underdog though?

If Conor's power moves up it'll be very interesting, because then his counterpunching could end the fight at any time. But if he can't dent RDS's chin the same way he does the smaller guys at 145, he could definitely get Pettis'd, because I still don't know if he's slick enough to maintain distance and outstrike RDA over 5 rounds. + Suspect TDD + RDA walked through all Pettis' shots like nothing + plus RDA is peaking just like McGregor and stopping bigger dudes, I can't see McGregor as the favorite right now.

I'd be happy to see him prove me wrong tho, that'd be crazy. He's an underdog in my mind but I still give him a chance because his power, his size and his counterpunching. But the favorite tho?

Does look sus he chose Chad who was hunting over Frankie who was training

He don't want them problems.

I promise, Frankie is going to expose this guy if Conor ever finds the testicular fortitude to step in the paint with him.

Nate Diaz only made 40k. If would have lost he would have only made 20k

That's why dude is begging for that red panty night

Damn I can see why he had the contract dispute with them a while back. He deserves more, but I guess he ain't a needle mover lol

He got cheered more than johnson who live in florida...

I always said Dana been doing Diaz so dirty but Diaz and company are the ones that signed off on the contract. He can only blame himself

Yeah, nate signed the contract then got mad when he realized it wasn't a good deal. Logic doesn't run in the diaz family.

SMH, aldo disappointed me so much. Do you think any of the current ufc champs would get rattled by constant trash talk and disrespect like that? Seemed like he handled it well in the beginning and thought it was funny but it kept building and building. Also didn't help that it seemed like the ufc were favoring his opponent.

Of all the current champs, I would think DJ would probably be the least likely to be rattled. Dude is so methodical and technical, i don't see the trash talking affecting his emotions much. Dude is a gamer as well and probably already hear tons of trash talking from kids.

And the UFC was definitely favoring McGregor...i remmeber there was a promo which said Aldo has been undefeated for 10 years and "all good things must end" was shown. I thought that was done in poor taste.

The trash talk and disrespect def got to Aldo. Not in a I'm scared, but rather in a I want to rip your head up. It filled him with anger to the point that dude saw red and McGregor was just the matador.

Jones wouldn't fall for that trash talk either ....

I doubt it would bother Edgar.

Curious to see what the "talk" is like leading up to that fight if it happens.

Thusfar, Conor has shown Frankie a lot of respect. But I'm guessing he'd turn it up a bit.

It wouldn't effect jones because I think he would do a lot of the talking and trolling. He gives no dambs and it helps that he's the best mma fighter. cormier can't really say anything that would affect him since jones already owned him.

no wonder guys want a piece of mcgregor. i didnt expect the payout to be this "low" from reebok

ORLANDO, Fla. – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC on FOX 17 event took home UFC Athlete Outfitting pay, a program that launched after the UFC’s deal with Reebok, totaling $245,000.

The figure ties with November’s UFC 193 event as the second-highest total issued since the program’s launch in July and brings total payouts for the first half-year of the program to $3,182,500.

UFC on FOX 17 took place at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. In the main event, UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos needed just 66 seconds to dispatch of Donald Cerrone. As part of the UFC Athlete Outfitting policy, the champ took home $40,000 for his win, while Cerrone pocketed $30,000 in defeat.

A few veterans reached the top non-championship payout of $20,000, as Nate Diaz and Danny Castillo each have reached 21 or more bouts under the Zuffa banner. Diaz picked up a main-card win over Michael Johnson (and a “Fight of the Night” bonus), while Castillo came up short against Nik Lentz on the prelims.

The full UFC on FOX 17 UFC Athlete Outfitting payouts included:

Rafael dos Anjos: $40,000
def. Donald Cerrone: $30,000

Alistair Overeem: $5,000
def. Junior dos Santos: $10,000

def. Hayder Hassan: $2,500

Francis Ngannou: $2,500
def. Luiz Henrique: $2,500

Under the new UFC Athlete Outfitting program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Reebok’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2011 and later). Fighters with 1-5 bouts receive $2,500 per appearance; 6-10 bouts get $5,000; 11-15 bouts earn $10,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $15,000; and 21 bouts and more get $20,000. Additionally, champions earn $40,000 while title challengers get $30,000.

In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive, in perpetuity royalty, payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

The Athlete Outfitting pay is supplemental to the fighters’ usual fight purses.
