But based on the eye test…Islam is the better wrestler and grappler. May have the better hands. Usman definitely got a sick striking game with the kicks and can pick his foe from distance. Or he can close distance and take them down and try GnP. Just not the level of Khabib or Islam. We’ve seen Islam fight two P4P guys back to back.

He'll fight both within the next 15 months. Izzy and Volk are 2 of the most active champs ever. I'm confident in saying Chimaev will only be an Abu Dhabi feature.

Plus Chimaev won’t have the size advantage. Plus Izzy has good cardio to carry him five rounds. We acting like his TDD hasn’t gotten better after the Jan fight. He’s going to need to work on TDD Driscus or Khamzat. Khamzat obviously requires more work.

Nothing is for certain.
But I would feel very confident putting a big money bet on Khamzat.
Fight would look very similar to Conor vs Khabib imo.

Izzy has great footwork and distance management. He's not staying in punching range while Chimaev has a full gas tank or falling for the straight/rear kick that Chimaev uses to close distance just to shoot his blast double.
Chimaevs grappling isn't some super technical game that guys have to decipher. It's off his freakish athleticism and his powerful gnp.
I'm not saying he'll go 0/30 on takedowns but to think that Izzys team wont find things to take advantage of is crazy. We've seen enough Izzy fights that shows he is very content with never putting himself in a bad spot defensively and just point his way for 25 minutes.

Waaaaay different fight and fighters. Conor already puts himself in a bad spot with his karate stance. Also relies too much on his power left to hurt guys. Everything in his game is just to bait you to it.

I love Izzy but I agree with you. After seeing Whittaker and I think vettori were both able to get there hands on Izzy but never be successful with the take downs, khamzat/Bo would feast in those positions

They’re definitely better wrestlers (one an NCAA champion, the other a grapplimg freak from Europe).
I think Bo could be a problem later on. But I’m a hold off on the Khamzat hyperbole until he fights Costa and then maybe a Whitaker.
