I just don't see Khazmat bullying costa around like he's used to at 70
I feel like he's going to be forced to stand and get exposed.

I feel bad for Aljo. Before that knee, he was a favorite of the people….
He definitely earned his title shot. He also definitely beat Yan in the rematch, imo. Folks are always going to pick at his championship resume….kind of like Woodley. They’ll say TJ was hurt. Some might say he lost to Cejudo. Some might say if Yan hadn’t committed that foul, Aljo would never have been champ.
He definitely is tied for most wins in the division. Headed for most title defenses. I like the guy besides the cringe.

I take that fight being the way it was, due to the elevation.
Costa has power but was never really a 1 punch KO guy. The pace, pressure, and volume he puts on guys is crazy and that could give Chimaev problems. He's also got a great chin. But this all relies on him fighting off the takedowns and chain wrestling of Chimaev. I need to rewatch Costa/Romero. I know he defended some takedowns from prime Yoel but can't remember Yoel trying to chain wrestling much.

Yoel wasn't a big chain wrestler. And more and more, he just relied on his explosiveness to generate the offense.
Khamzat...you know what's coming. Costa didn't look good in the Vettori and Cockhold fights. But hopefully, he brings his A game against Khamzat. Chimaev is such a monster.

They're both overrated skillset wise. But they got that dawg in em, intensity and power. Should be a banger like the Burns vs khamzat scrap. Like many have said Costa too big and strong to get ragdolled if Burns wasn't having it.

Hard to really know where costa is at right now. His performances post the Izzy fight have been a drop off from the guy prior.

Definitely don't think he can get Chimaev out of there, but Burns did drop him off a check hook. Only big question I have of Chimaev is cardio. Since he doesn't have to cut the extra weight maybe he'll be alright though. If he doesn't get baited in to a brawl like the Burns fight then he beats Costa fairly easy.

It'll definitely be a must watch. If I'm being real, on paper that's probably the best card on paper unless they put Leon/Colby on MSG and somehow have a banger for December.
Vettori definitely has a crazy chin/durability. I don't remember if he tried wrestling. We know Khamzat going to try and has decent grappling. Gilbert did drop Khamzat but we gotta admit Chimaev was firing back in glee. He just has to pace himself. Probably the same for Costa.

Still wild that O’Malley got gifted the split decision after blatantly cheating with fence and glove grabs. Had the ref been competent a point deduction would have made it an easy UD for Yan. Yan honestly should have won either way.
