UC is more than just Deonta now so I really disagree with that statement. Xavier averages just under 17 turnovers per game, UC averages just under 16 turnoversper game. Add in that both teams have been very good on defense, neither team has a PG, and the emotion of the game. I just see it getting very ugly in termsturnovers. XU hasn't impressed me much honestly because I think UC can also beat Memphis later on this year and we're not even one of the BE'selite.

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford has dismissed starting forward Ibrahima Thomas from the basketball team.

Ford says he had several conversations with the sophomore over the past week and determined that he lacked the commitment to make the program successful.

At 6-foot-11, Thomas was the main post presence on a Cowboys team that lacks depth inside. He was benched for Oklahoma State's 83-65 loss at Washingtonlast week and replaced in the starting lineup by senior Anthony Brown.

Thomas had been averaging 8.3 points and 3.9 rebounds while starting the first seven games for Oklahoma State (5-3).

Wow, Oklahoma State just dropped from about the middle of the pack in the Big Xii to damn near the bottom. They're gonna get destroyed any time they play ateam with a decent post player.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I too will believe it when I see it. And I think Hugggins keeps Steph under 30. I'm going with both Big East teams in the Garden.
What You Need To Know
Georgetown was great on defense again.

Samardo Samuels reached double-figures again.

Here's Tuesday morning's What You Need To Know:

Notable game from Monday: Georgetown prepared for its weekend showdown with Memphis by destroying Savannah State. Final score: 100-38. So the Hoyas have now held three consecutive opponents under the 50-point barrier, and they are 6-1 with a lone loss to Tennessee. DaJuan Summers, Jessie Sapp and Austin Freeman each had 14 points in the win.

Notable performance from Monday: Freshman Samardo Samuels had 15 points and six rebounds in Louisville's 78-56 victory against Lamar. The 6-foot-8 forward made six of 10 shots, meaning he's scored in double-figures in all six games of his college career. Samuels is averaging 16.3 points per contest.

Notable game scheduled for Tuesday: Davidson's Stephen Curry will play at New York's Madison Square, which is a fitting stage for the sport's emerging star who seems to outdo himself every other week. The opponent will be West Virginia, but that's almost inconsequential, because folks will come to see Curry make shots and try to score 40, and though Villanova-Texas is technically the headliner of this Jimmy V Classic, there's no denying Curry is the marquee attraction. Tip-off is set for 7 pm ET.

NEW YORK -- A Southern Conference policy on ejections means Davidson (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 AP) will be without starting guard Max Paulhus Gosselinagainst West Virginia at Madison Square Garden.

The game Tuesday is part of the Jimmy V Classic.

Paulhus Gosselin was ejected in the first half of Saturday's win over North Carolina State for a flagrant foul. While NCAA rules state that players aresubject to suspension only for ejections due to fighting, the Southern Conference policy calls for a one-game ban for any ejection due to unsportsmanlikeconduct.

Davidson appealed, but league spokesman Jason Yaman said Tuesday that the suspension was upheld.

Paulhus Gosselin is Davidson's top defender. He's averaging 3.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Check that.

Seems like it really might be true. I thought only 3 or 4 games.
Haven't heard any of the news outlets reporting it but if its true you can't say that he didn't deserve it. Everyone will have to stepup including Mookie Jones. NIT 3 years in a row? Allen just popped champagne over that thought.

Nah, I actually don't believe it'd hurt too much.

I was a Devo fan before he went down last year, but now..he either lost a step or isn't all the way back. And he's never played defense.

Give Joseph more minutes, give Mookie spot minutes.

But if one other person got hurt or got in trouble, that'd be the season.

I don't see how you guys read those fansites. The love on those boards is blind. I can't believe what I am reading. Most of those posters have no ideawhat happens at SU because they don't go there or they just live in the city which doesn't like the school outside of sports. They should remainpartial to the case especially if they don't have the facts straight. Did he deserve a fair trial? Yes. Is he a good person? Far from it.
