This is dumb.

What great player isn't given carte blanch over the offense?

What great player doesn't ave an offense tailored to their strengths?

The only difference between Nash and other guards is It took Nash 8 years to find a coach and franchise that believed in him.

The league caught up to D'antoni and implemented his advacments everywhere he lost his edge, yet somehow Nash led squads kept spitting out elite offenses.

Where ever Nash went elite offense followed, regardless of "system".

[thread="608612"]Theres 2 ends of the game for Basketball thougj[/thread]
Steve Nash is one of the few players whos insane production on the offensive end makes up for his lack of defensive ability. Even so, weak defense at the wing is nowhere near as bad as weak defense in the paint. The Suns were still average on defense those years.

I'm far from one of those people who acts like defense isnt a thing, but Steve Nash on offense is the greatest offensive spectacle most of us have ever seen. Hes one of the 3 best passers most of us have ever seen and the greatest shooter ever.

Steve Nash was good player but he was given carte blanche with the Suns offense

Dudes don't become 25 percent better at age 30 without the system playing a HUGE part in it
Steve Nash didn't succeed because of that system, the system succeeded because of Steve Nash. No other guard in the league could have filled that spot.

Nash is close to the 50-40-90 %s and will definitely get in the HOF. People forget that he was putting crap teams in the playoffs throughout his career.

I feel like if you put a All Star caliber pass first point guard you would get similar results and get better defense

:rolleyes

he is one of the 5 greatest shooters ever, maybe the greatest, you need a lot more than just "a all star caliber pass first point gaurd" to produce the greatest offense in the history of the NBA.

I don't know how to explain this to you, the NBA has assimilated D'antoni's principles, team shoot more 3's, use stretch fours a run spread pick and rolls, who out there is putting up Nash numbers? Which pass first PG's has offense units performing like Nash did?

I still think in their primes nash>cp3. Nash really knows how to disorient a defense and Paul is mostly a drive and kick/lob assist guy. Just a matter of preference really

What a disastrous PR move by J.Buss. Damn.

Never had a random fanhood as strong as the 2010 Suns team that nearly had a 3-2 lead in the WCF.

Past FA's or fuure FA's could care less about Jeannie saying that though,

If given the chance, they'd sign up in LA, still.

LA chooses you, you don't choose them.
