The midichlorian stuff doesn't really discount the whole dark side/light side human emotions metaphor. It just explains on a science level how they work in a vague way which still sounds limke magic. Its no different than science explaining emotions via biochemistry and how parts of the brain works.
When it was first brought up sounded like some dbz **** to me
it doesnt discount it but it gives the prequels a lifeless boring dull feeling, where as the originals felt magical because of the way they talked about the forceThe midichlorian stuff doesn't really discount the whole dark side/light side human emotions metaphor. That's what I got from it too. Great analysisTo me it felt like the struggle that Kylo was going through was that he so desperately wants to be totally immersed in the dark side of the force but cant because there is some light left in him.
Probably due to who his mom is and her sensitivity to the force.
It is referenced several times throughout the film.
1st by Kylo himself when talking to Vadar's helmet, the 2nd time by Leia when she says to Han:"There's still good in him. I know it"
And again by Kylo on the bridge when he says: Im being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain... "
And when he says: "I know what I have to do but I dont know if I have the strength to do it. Will you help me?"
I think what he meant by "will you help me" was help him extinguish the light inside of him.
The reason I say this is based off the coversation Kylo and the Supreme Leader had in an earlier scene.
SL: "the droid we seek is aboard the MF, in the hands of your father, Han Solo"
Kylo: He means nothing to me"
SL:" Even you, last of the Knights of Ren, have never faced such a test.
Kylo:"By the grace of your training I will not be seduced"
Even in the convo with Han, Kylo is adamant about being with the dark side, and never really sways from that.
Kylo: Han Solo. Ive been waiting for this day for a long time.
Han: Take off that mask
Kylo What do you think you will see if I do?
Han: The face of my son
Kylo: Your son is gone. He was weak and foolish like his father so I destroyed him
Han: Thats what Snoke wants you to believe, but its not true. My son is alive
Kylo: No. The Supreme Leader is wise.
Han: Snoke is using you for your power. When he gets what he wants he'll crush you... You know its true
Kylo: Its too late
Han: No its not. Leave here with me. Come home. We miss you
Kylo: Im being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain... I know what I have to do but I dont know if I have the strength to do it. Will you help me?
Han: Yes! Anything
I really believe that scene on the bridge was all about Kylo killing any trace of Ben once and for all. Which is what he wants.
But to do that he first had to kill what brings out some of the good in him. His father.
MAN THATS ONE HELL OF A PILOT

.That's the whole point. CP highlighted it in a post replying to me. The Sith are constantly backstabbing each other to be in charge while at the same time they're also fighting the Jedi. When warring with the Jedi they never call a truce among themselves. It's straight up Game of Thrones with the Sith. The apprentice is ALWAYS scheming on the master the rule of two is stupid. Most Sith Lords had secret apprentice in the background in the EU (not canon, but still) and during the Clone Wars Maul had an apprentice at the same time Palpatine was running around with Dooku (I think that's his apprentice at the time idk)
Guess Sith don't follow rules
So I guess some wise old Sith noticed that and when he was like the last Sith left, moving forward he created the rule of 2 (from brief searching online this was Darth Bane but this is no longer canon).
Palpatine/Sidious has shown to be the smartest and most cunning of the Sith thus far. Killed Plageuis (his master right?), was using Maul, Dooku, and whoever else as apprentices that he was always planning on killing after they outlived their usefulness. That's one thing that matches up from the PT to ep IV. It was the one cool thing to watch dude pull strings on both sides. Every command as Sidious to the Trade Federation and his apprentice(s) help gain Palpatine more power.

scrolling through here i actually believe 90% what they're posting
i've been contemplating how'd i feel about them making an actual Clone Wars film. I think a Sheev/Plagueis film has incredible potential
Also you gotta admit, Jesus going to the dark side is a compelling story. He made Anakin, Jesus, dude.
Well yeah, you won't find me arguing parts of the prequels being boring and dull.it doesnt discount it but it gives the prequels a lifeless boring dull feeling, where as the originals felt magical because of the way they talked about the forceThe midichlorian stuff doesn't really discount the whole dark side/light side human emotions metaphor. Yeah but is Darth Bane even still canon? Him creating the rule of 2 may be but is he? They could switch up the whole history and credit somebody else or pretend like the Sith always had that rule..That's the whole point. CP highlighted it in a post replying to me. Bane creating the rule of 2 is still canon because it gets referenced in clone wars but i think the rest of his story isn't
off topic but if ANYONE from the Star Wars world deserves a game it's Darth Bane. He basically went on a God Of War-esque quest through Sith Temples to find ancient holocrons for information and power.
EA gotta make this happen
