im a latino from da Caribbean, Nipsey got more in common with Arabs than me, keep da trollin to a minimum plz.

Eritrea is in Africa. They are africans, they refer to themselves as Africans and I've never met anyone from there that felt like they weren't African or black. Ever. They are proud of who they are.

With that said, being a latino from the Caribbean is cool but just like you don't like when ppl here refer to you as black because you dont like american racial categories being placed on you as a dominican, dont place your denial on someone else or a group of ppl that definitely do not think the same as you.

middle eastern groups been lobbying congress for their own Census box MENA (Middle eastern & North African) since before 9/11 and very much so after as a way to have accurate representation and funding.

the Arab American Institute and other advocates for a MENA category have long called for the bureau to consider MENA as a category for ethnicity.

That distinction has been under consideration by the White House's Office of Management and Budget, which sets the standards for how the bureau and other federal agencies collect race and ethnicity data. Right now, those standards require ethnicity to be asked on federal surveys only in terms of "Hispanic or Latino" and "Not Hispanic or Latino."


There is a proposal, first introduced during the Obama administration, to change those standards so that all federal agencies must ask about MENA as an ethnicity or as a distinct racial group separate from "White," which according to current federal standards, includes anyone "having origins in any of the original peoples" of Europe, the Middle East or North Africa.

Their country's emblem is a Camel, Arabic is a official language, and they had a War with Yemen over domain of islands between them...and Yemen is regarded as middle East, but a Country thats literally da next county over isn't? ok
