Restaurant put "Fat Girls" on these ladies check

The truth hurts, if they don't like, then they should do something about it and make that statement false. IMO, fat is a whole lot less offensive than having the receipt labeled obese. People are just way too sensitive now a days. People should know everybody judges and not to give a dambs but rather take responsibility for their own life choices. If you are overly concerned about what other people think, never leave your dang house.

I was replying to the "SENIOR DISCOUNT" comment she made
i'm SURE you misinterpreted that

Dude, I'm siding with you.

*writes dumb customer on next receipt*

that's cute and all, yes everyone judges... but not businesses :rolleyes
the employee represents a business that I bet doesn't want to be seen as a 'judge' of a person's appearance

Except people go to restaurants to eat and have a good time, not to be condescended to or judged.

People these days act like 'fat' is some kind of epithet. If you're severely overweight, you are fat. It's the truth. Tired of people getting overly offended over nothing.

Was it rude/unprofessional of the employee? Yes. It's not that serious though.

Wait, those folks are really offended by being referred to as "UPSTAIRS BLK COUPLE" How in the hell is that offensive, are they not a black couple? :lol
Maybe they're Dominican?

Lmao @ this thread.

This thread really does show the age/mindset of the majority of the posters. Ironically these are the same dudes that would be posting in the girl thread about the same name calls "she called me ugly man.....I don't have any confidence" and "I gotta slim down I don't even like going out anymore". These women don't need to be reminded they are "fat", overweight, black, or whatever when they go to eat. They have names and a table number. Grow up NT. I bet if you mom that lost her hair from cancer got "bald lady on here receipt" you'd be cool with that? Its the truth right she's bald? Man just stop it.
um so what about applications.... ppl filling them out for a job dont as you put it "need to be reminded their age"  they have names and ss# that are more distinctive and personal then a table number... so should ppl be in a uproaor upset that race is asked placed on a application... esp since if its this so called e.o.e and race/ethnicity supposably have no factor in hiring practices?

And your usage in terms of the bald lady... again why is it socially accepted to note a man being bald regardless of why he is bald and not a woman... at the end of the day your point and reasoning could apply to either instance...

And whats funny and ironic is the fact you used reminded... as if their body etc... and they some how are completely oblivious to being overweight and somehow a reciept has enlighten them... to otherwise unbeknownst to them that they are overweight.

and like someone else stated how is this any different then labeling smokers... not even on something personally like a handsize receipt, but huge signage etc... to let it be known they smoke. they dont need to be reminded they smoke... and they can easily have a special section etc... for smokers.... and inform them of said area without the huge stick and astray and signs....

Sucks for them but hopefully they can use this as a motivation to get their lives together.

I had to go through something similar for me to finally get my *** in the gym and start eating right.

If you are applying for something then should be prepared to give out your personal information.

Bald man or bald lady.  It shouldn't be on a receipt.  Restuarant industry is how old? You don't think there's a better method to distinguish customers?  Really c'mon fam.

Smoking effects others around the smokers. A "fat" person can't ruin the atmosphere of my meal.  People have asthma and other allergies to smoking.  Not fat people. You are too smart to sound the way you do

it's because she asks for a discount

so if dude gave them a big girl discount then it would be a ok then...

older person comes in gets 10% off bill and reciept says old person its cool...

fat chicks come in and get 10% off bill and reciept says fat chick its cool according to your logic....

same as you say despite it being fact they may feel offended that they are labeled fat... im sure you realize their are some older/elderly ppl who do not like being labeled dont associate with the terms senior/older/elderly.....

And im not even going to go into the fact that despite both are true fact statements... one of them is something that is uncontrolled... and the other is a lifestyle/decision choice... a unwise one that they have self loathing.... and a personal issue in regards of said choice....

I agree with both your arguments that it was wrong what the waiter to write "fat" on the receipt but I still hold the belief that people should be responsible for their own life and lifestyle decisions and to not give a dambs about what other people think. No matter if people don't like it, people will always judge you, as long as you are happy with yourself than stuff like this shouldn't hold you down. Live by the motto, "you do you, I'll do me."

Noooo dude, what he's saying is that seniors only get the senior discount if they ask for it. Typically, a restaurant wouldn't just label them as "seniors" and give it to them uninvited, even if it's an obvious fact that they are old.

your example is that your grandmother has to see "SENIOR CITIZEN" on her receipts, I said yes, in the case that she asks for a discount... which is different.

if you ask for a "FAT" discount then I'm pretty sure you wouldn't mind "FAT" being on your receipt...
your comparison is off, because your grandmother got their receipt stamped voluntarily.

dudes comparing Senior, military, school discounts to being labeled Fat?  You can't be that dense

I only ever look at the lower part of my receipt. All those times I dined at a restaurant with a cute waitress and I will never know if I was ever holla'd at.

agreed on first part but what barrings would race have to do in terms of a job if it is e.o.e....?

i already said a wouldnt personally do it... i as well as others where just speaking in general how labeling a fat person in general in our society is deemed as wrong disrespectful....yet labeling ppl because of other distinct factual descriptions such as hair color, race, is ok...? And why does fat trumps....superscedes the other... How is labeling a fat person fat more offensive then a asian person an asian person... a ****** a ******... so on and so forth?

And there is and have been to plenty of places that have a distinct and seperate area for smokers... and it is told before hand.... so with that being said why is there a need for signage etc... on said area... Example i was in stl airport.... they have a section/closed off area dedicated exclusively for smokers... it is inclosed etc... and you cant even go in unless the workers page the unlock... Yet there is tons of signs saying smoking... not only that but cancer etc.... Do you think these ppl want to be reminded about cancer etc...heart disease etc.....They arent offending etc... others bcause it is an enclosed sealed area... where you cant even go in unless you tell them you smoke and they unlock the door for you....

Yet i dont see ppl in uproar saying omg.... they constantly reminded me that i smoke... and they keep all these truth about smoking signs etc.. cancer risk etc.. signs around me....

The funny thing is if the same thing was done in a special area with fat ppl and it had signs reminding them of heart disease.... obesity etc... maybe some posters etc... how well would that go over?

Just imaging if food had lil reminders specifically targeted to fat ppl and areas had lil reminders specifically targeting fat ppl as they do with smokers? how well would that go over and how would it differ... im pretty certain that smokers do realize what smoking does... and its effects

now we both know lol as funny as that is... they would want the discount and hell to be real they often times take it upon themselves to get extra...shoutout to buffets... and they still would find offense in a term that stated fat discount....

and even in the instance of asking for the discount... it doesnt have to be placed on the reciept to still implement the discount.... its often times ive gotten a military discount... hell i get one on my xfinity bill and it doesnt say "military discount" hell i went out to eat on veteran day and i believe the reciept i recieved didnt say discount specifically for me being a vet... although the one the kept did i believe... so

Yes it can and is done.... without specifying a trait/characteristic on a discount... off basis to the point but... kinda ties in seeing as their is places who dont stamp it on reciept etc....
